I wouldn't depend on the tabloids to report the truth.... especially when they're on the warpath against someone.

// He’s telling the troof. For once.//

ah but what is truth ? pontius pilate Jn 18 37
we are getting very biblical this afternoon ....
There were eye-witnesses to SYL’s punch, and the center has CCTV. He was been charged with assault and bailed.

The CCTV might be useful in proving (or disproving) the sexual assault allegation.

No news of anyone being charged with that, but the police have been made aware of the allegation, and will be investigating in relation to the assault court case.

SYL’s lengthy criminal record for violent behaviour will not help him. For ABH, if the offender has previous convictions or if there are aggravating factors, a prison sentence is more likely.
Apparently a few weeks in chokey is a death sentence for our Hero Tommy :-(
Gromit - // Apparently a few weeks in chokey is a death sentence for our Hero Tommy :-( //

It's a death sentence to his ego!

Being unable to connect with his 'audience' when he thinks of something else to bleat about is more than a self-publicist at his level can possibly endure!

Why do you keep stating 'facts' you can't possibly know.
Wait for the trial and stop making a fool of yourself.
// Wait for the trial and stop making a fool of yourself.//

oh god the usual one .... because it is all over the social media .....
common assault is slappy handies territory innit
only triable at a magistrates court etc

( cd be wrong - it may be a capital offence)

They originally arrested him for ABH, peter.
Probably realised that wouldn't stick so changed the charge.
(bit like when they prosecuted him for contempt of court)
// Spicerack - // Not sending a good message to TR's daughter (or other victims) Report a sexual assault and see your father arrested. //

erm sorry there is an existential assumption that a sexual assault occurred. it may not have done

this little circumstance completely changes the picture

but what if Tarmy our blessed hero ready to intervene whenever - thought there had been but there hadnt been ?
note importance of CCTV
Spicerack - // They originally arrested him for ABH, peter.

Suggesting that the charge 'wouldn't stick' rather adds to 'Tommy Robinson's perception of himself, that the world is out to get him.

The reality is more likely that the police make an initial arrest based on what they perceive the offence to be, and when it is analysed, a more appropriate charge is decided on, based more on the correct application of the law, rather than the desperate need to jail 'Tommy Robinson'.

He's only that important in his own mind, and the minds of people who think he is a 'hero'.

\\ (bit like when they prosecuted him for contempt of court)\\

er completely unlike contempt of court where tarmy said he WOULDN'T tape and stream outside a court and
then went outside and did so .....
judgy baby completely unamused

I didn't say a sexual assault took place. I said his daughter claimed a sexual assault took place. Which she did.
Question Author
They charged him with Breach of the Peace, peter. Prosecuted him for contempt of court.
Maybe there are arrestable offences and non-arrestable. I don't know.
Center Parcs Privacy Policy:
// We use CCTV footage to assist in monitoring and maintaining safety within our Villages and to prevent and detect crime.

Where necessary this footage may also be shared with the authorities for law enforcement purposes. //

The Press Association/Sun Newspaper

// Witnesses claimed that Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, confronted another man before punching him in the face, it added. //

There is CCTV. There are witnessess. And there will be a Court case. Let’s see what happens.
If Tommy doesn't be careful, he might find himself in a position to be able to write a trilogy ala Jeffery Archer:)
To be clear, SYL has been charged with Common Assault.
The maximum sentence allowed by law for common assault is six months imprisonment, and cases can only be heard in the magistrates' court. If the assault is racially or religiously aggravated, the maximum sentence is two years imprisonment and cases can be heard in the Crown Court as well.
// They charged him with Breach of the Peace, peter.//
noop
who was it who said stick to the facts ?

you get arrested for breach but there is no charge
this came up a few weeks ago with NJ - who got it right because well you know he is a judge

[Breach of the Peace. Breach of the Peace is not a criminal offence: you can be arrested, but you cannot be charged. The police have the power to detain or arrest you if a “breach of the peace” has occurred, or to prevent it from occurring.]

Quoting The Sun, gromit.
And even they didn't say TR punched anyone. lol.
Question Author
It is a fact, peter. I don't care what you, NJ or the Lord Chief Justice say. he was arrested for Breaching the Peace (it's on video if you want to prolong your pig-headedness.)
Question Author
I see what you're saying about arresting/charging. That's what I meant. You're splitting hairs,my point stands.
Quick poll. Was it right that TR should have videod his daughter and posted this on line given the nature of the allegation?
