I was once given a glass of 'peaty brew'. It was vile and put me off whisky for life.
A local family has begun a Yorkshire whisky. 'Spirit of Yorkshire', the 1st 3-yr-old bottles are now ready to sell. We went around the distillery last year and bought a bottle of 2 yr-old (unable to sell it legally) because the tastings were fantastic. Local farmers are growing more barley etc., the stills have been hand-made. I haven't broached ours because I have all the paperwork and reckon it's going to be worth a bit in a few years. Worth having a look at.
The peaty brew from Skye was Talisker. Awful.
I was courting a young matron from University Hospital . London. She had a room in nursing home accommodation in Marylebone. She had a 5 litre bottle of whiskey made into a standard lamp in her bedroom.
I asked where all the Whiskey went and she explained her brother was the manager of a distillery on Islay. When her clan went to see her off to the mainland to train as a student nurse her brother gave her the full bottle of whiskey to see her on her way. The airport and aircraft were very small on Islay and her luggage allowance was way over weight. Rather than ditch several pairs of shoes and other clothing in her wardrobe she poured the whiskey down the sink in the airport ladies. Our relationship soured after that revelation. Last I heard of her was an account by her in the Nuneaton train crash in which she was a passenger
I keep getting email reminders to vote and that labour voters are coming out in droves so the result isn’t a forgone Conservative conclusion.
no it isn't.
No, it isn't naomi. I don't know (and may very well end up with egg on my face) but I had a queer feeling between my shoulder-blades when I was on my way upstairs about 7.00 p.m. - and most certainly not thinking about the election - that the Tories would win. Can't account for it. I may, as I say, be well out, but I had the same sort of feeling about the referendum. Do hope the shoulder-blades are operating well and that the incessant rain hasn't affected them!! :)
