Sorry transplant shouldn't be in the heading
Is there a deadline? Why would there be a deadline?
I have been registered for years. They can take anything that might be useful.

Deadline to register your wishes
Salvage whatever they feel might be useful.
I've never said this before - do you have a link?

Question Author
Does anyone know if there is actually a deadline to register your wishes ?
I presume you are taking about the 'Opt out scheme' due next year?
Question Author
Yes mamy
It's just for England? That could explain why I hadn't heard of it.
I'm not saying there is no deadline but I can't find one , plus you can change your mind at any time regardless.

Here is a 'Do not donate' form should anyone require it.
They can have anything of me that is of any use.
Looks like Scotland is changing next Autumn Wolf.

I can never understand why people would rather take all their body parts to the grave/incinerator when they may be of some help to someone.

The opt-out system is, I think, the best option. Some people don't like to think about dying - it is not as if not thinking about it is actually going to do any good. We have all got an expiry date.

I agree, not much use to use afterwards are they.

I think some still harbour a fear that they'll hurry your demise along to get the parts they want.
I wondered if it might be against some religions?
That may well be another possible reason, though there is not much in the shape of formal disapproval, it could be handed down through the ages.

This from mamys link

//The opt out system in England will come into effect from spring 2020. The law around organ donation in England will remain ‘opt in’ until this
time //

Which is very confusing
It says 'remain opt in' untill this time

What does it mean by 'opt in ' until this
time ?
just opted out, I don't trust the system.
It will remain as it is now until it is changed, but never fear - your organs won't be taken without some form of discussion even afterwards.
