But who knew she did not have a knife
Anne //One more time the I’m out. She did NOT have a knife.//
She didn't have a gun either but how was anybody supposed to know that?
I thought he overreacted.
ludwig. He didn't overreact.
I may well get shouted down for this, but most protestors strike me as being attention seekers for themselves rather than whatever cause their supposedly supporting
In his position who would have reacted differently? I'd have seen it as a potential threat - and I doubt very much I'd have waited to find out whether it was or not.
// ludwig. He didn't overreact. //

That's your opinion. My opinion is that he did.
ludwig, of course you are entitled to your mistaken opinion.
dee: "I may well get shouted down for this, but most protestors strike me as being attention seekers for themselves rather than whatever cause their supposedly supporting " - bang on, look at Emma Thompson!
Ludwig, if you were in that position what would you do?
// In his position who would have reacted differently? //

But there were lots of people in his position and all of them reacted differently to him. He was the only one that grabbed a protestor and marched them out of the room. Now, that could either make him the only one with any courage and common sense, or the only one that overreacted. I accept that most people think it's the former, but I just think it's the latter based on the footage I've seen.
ludwig, why do you think he overreacted? Like everybody else in the room he had no idea of her intentions. Had she had a knife and stabbed someone then everybody would be saying why didn't somebody do something. Well, he did "something" before the situation escalated.
Ludwig, That doesn't answer the question. What would you have done?
Ludwig. watch the video and pause it as he grabs her, not by the neck, but by the arm in which she is holding something.
In the current climate I don't understand why anyone would give her the benefit of the doubt, I really don't.
// Ludwig, That doesn't answer the question. What would you have done? //

I hadn't seen that question when I posted that last comment, so I'll address it now.

I would have done what the other 200? people in the room did, and waited calmly for the protest, which was clearly noisy and intrusive, but non-violent, to run it's course.

If at any point things changed and it turned violent I'd do anything I could to prevent it continuing.
So wait until someone gets hurt. Hmmm....
// Ludwig. watch the video and pause it as he grabs her, not by the neck, but by the arm in which she is holding something. //

Yep, that's a fair point.
all pre planned to gain maximum publicity, all dressed in gowns as not to draw attention, probably she..they would be evicted, but....it's on the media now....if she ran towards me suddenly like that in todays climate..pun, i would have put her lights, she mave had had a knife acid..i dont know, but i would not chance it.
//So wait until someone gets hurt. Hmmm.... //

There didn't seem to be any risk of that happening, which is why I say he overreacted.
