//Basically if anyone on it is saying something that somebody doesn't like, they complain that it's biased.//

It's nothing to do with them saying something that some people dislike. The BBC is funded by licence payers who are all people who watch TV (whether they watch BBC or not, so it's essentially a tax). Its charter determines that it should be politically impartial. The reporting of yesterday's visit should have informed viewers of the essentials: what the Queen was wearing, what Mr Trump was wearing, where the helicopter landed, etc. Instead, the viewers were treated to a succession of Trump haters, some of whom were quite vitriolic of the Queen's (and the country's) guest. Ms Derbyshire conducted her entire slot adjacent to a blow-up doll purporting to represent the President wearing a nappy. It's bad enough that it's pathetic but the political views and ramblings of the BBC and its hand-wringing acolytes are not required when describing a State visit.
Sorry judge but I'm not buying it. If they'd wheeled out a bunch of people who did nothing but praise Trump, everyone else who liked Trump would be thinking how fair and impartial the coverage was, whereas all the ones who disliked him would be complaining.

Substitute Corbyn for Trump in the above and it's still true.

If what people see on telly matches their own view they're happy with it. If it doesn't they say it's rubbish.
//Substitute Corbyn for Trump....//

Corbyn would never have received the same treatment. The BBC is biased.
// Corbyn would never have received the same treatment. //

But the lefties think he does. Because the BBC don't spend the whole time praising 'Jeremy' to the rafters and occasionally ask him awkward questions that make him grumpy, they whinge about how biased the BBC is.

If he ever gets into power Laura Kuenssberg will be packed off to a gulag for 're-education'.
They are as biased as hell, but they will never sway me - I have a mind of my own !
Ironically... there is more money in appealing to the left than the tight right.
//there is more money in appealing to the left than the tight right. //

Ahh, there's the answer. The left pay more for their licences than the right.
No, the left generate more traffic and cause up a bigger stir! Which = moneyyy
Ohhhh..... right. :o/
// I was watching the coverage on Beeb 24 last night and it seemed pretty even handed//

they had people off the street
Americans ! ! - one rep one dem
then the gurlz - I dont want my tots felt as against
( oo am I allowed naughtily to write - rubbed up against?) he had done a great job, so long as you are not hispanic or immigrant but ARE very very riche

My grouse was they asked a Yank (ambassador) what it was like to dine off silver plate without making it clear that silver could be gold plated and made by Paul Storr 1820s OR made of steel and given a silver veneer and it was NOT the second sort they were dining off.

and didnt the ambassador go: "and I too am lookiing to Pres Trump for some rich commercial contracts to get involved in" and I thought Jesus it is true - Trump clan and hangers on are all at it....

oh and some bearded red necks in Parliament Sq saying Trump is not all that bad .....
Spath, it really is important to appreciate that wars, past ones in particular and future ones a close second, are extremely important to a large (majority ?) section of the UK's adult population. Among those I have any knowledge of, the UK is the nation which is most militaristic in sentiment. I am pretty certain that only the UK recently had four solid years when probably every week at least two channels had some in depth analysis/documentary/etc. on some aspect of WW1. Only the UK has a de rigueur nod to wars that spans several weeks annually. I am surprised/impressed you have the courage to express fatigue.
The fact that we have to pay the BBC to shove its leftie propaganda down our throats, adds insult to injury.
Shutting it down is in the Ukip manifesto. I think it will be Brexit Party policy too. So you know the answer.
//If they'd wheeled out a bunch of people who did nothing but praise Trump,//

These were not people who were "wheeled out", Ludders. These (in particular the Misses Derbyshire and Kuenssberg) were the presenters of the BBC's output. It is obvious that people who are interviewed on such a contentious topic are bound to be partisan. But viewers are entitled to expect the BBC's presenters to be neutral - at least whilst they are working on the BBC's output.
On the basis that we still speak English,
we are not ‘protesting Trump’;
we are ‘protesting AGAINGST Trump’.
Means the same thing, old fruit.
