MPs vote to eliminate 11 and the final two go to party members to decide the winner.

Boris is unliked by his fellow MPs sowill be eliminated.

I reckon Gove is a certainty and then McVey or Hunt.

Who are your predictions for the final two?

It is very hard to see how the Tories could “win” an election next time, for several reasons.
Leaving aside the current polls which aren’t relevant, if a “no deal” Brexit happens they are likely to be deserted by Remain-inclined voters and if they don’t deliver Brexit by the time of the next election they’ll be deserted by many Brexit inclined voters.
But leaving all that aside, they’ve been in power wholly or in coalition for 9 years as it stands and the Brexit saga has torn them apart and left them seemingly bereft of energy and ideas. Added to which the current leadership battle is likely to be a bloody one, with many people with some justification asking why 100,000 people, many of them seemingly ex-UKIP entryists, are effectively being allowed to choose the direction of the next government.
Entryism by militant factions in the Labour Party gave us Corbyn and the same thing is now happening here.
sorry, who are the 100,000? 17.4 million voted brexit.
if you mean the tory membership it's 125,000. But actually only 330 get tp pick the final two, the rest of us have the Appleby choice. Even then TBF we are not choosing direction merely the next PM to not get any sense out of the EUSSR. At some point they'll realise we must leave with no deal then do a deal.
Ichkeria, you make the mistake of assuming that people who voted remain are still against leaving the EU.

Many are properly democratic, and accept the result of the people's vote.
Hmm I think most people who voted Remain are against leaving the EU :-)
But essentially, the reason the Tories are unlikely to win an election is likely to prove to be the fact that they’ve been the party in power for a long time.
Their only hope is Corbyn, but I’m not sure I’d want to rely on that.
We ARE choosing direction Tora, of course we are.
In that respect it is most unlike the more recent transfers of PM between elections.
I can't summon much interest in this process to be honest.

There isn't anyone in the current government or shadow cabinet that I think would make a good PM, so I find both the Tory leadership election and the prospect of a general election all a bit depressing.
Speaking of current candidates I've just had a lovely message from Rory Stewart which says ...
// This is just a quick message that I’ll be at Speaker’s Corner in London today from 5.30pm. Please do come along if you’d like to meet me, ask me a question, challenge me, and hear about my vision for Britain. It’s near Marble Arch - and no soap box included... \\
I shan't go but I wonder if it will be on the News tonight as I reckon he might get a rough ride.
13 candidates - 13 at the Last Supper. Which one's Judas?

/// Just heard on Radio 2 that BoJo intends to cut taxes but increase spending on schools and police. Perhaps he has access to May's magic money tree? ///

No, just picking up a few wind-falls from Corbyn's overladen money tree.
Ladybirder, probably be a load of Bolshie saucepans there now they have looked up from their Iphones for long enough to realise the climate of the earth is not static.
AOG; why hyphenate the word 'windfall'?
Hopefully Raab (my choice) and Johnson and no deal for dessert please :-)
Boris is a character not easily ignored. I can't muster up much enthusiasm for any of them though - but I detest Gove.
Would the idea that Corbyn and his bit on the side dianne Abbott running the country put sensible people of voting labour? I know it would suit wee jimmy krankie she would definitely get her home rule for Scotland, and I could emigrate to Crete.
I do like Rory Stewart. He probably would not stand a chance if paraded in front of the current members though.

Boris would get my vote.
//Boris would get my vote. //

If push came to shove he'd get mine too. His personality makes him popular - and the Conservatives need all the help they can get right now.
"Would the idea that Corbyn and his bit on the side dianne Abbott running the country put sensible people of voting labour? " - not so far, still plenty on here want to be run by Cob and the Abacus.
He must surely be the most decent chap of the current candidates Ich. Maybe one day but not this time unless there is a miracle.
