A deal will naturally mean the government has signed up to it: it will no longer be Theresa May and Jeremy Hunt getting cheap headlines out of Barnier-bashing and Tusk-tormenting.

Leaving the EU should mean what folk has been saying it should mean from the start. To reiterate, return of sovereignty so we make out own rules which can not be superceded by the EU unelected elites. That's never been in doubt. The issues have all revolved around the relationship afterwards, particularly regarding trade, the Irish border, and involvement in international activities such as security, science, etc.; and the lack of progress seems down to the EU not willing to be reasonable for the benefit of us both.

No one should be laughing at politicians possibly going for the worst case scenario. We all know that failing to agree a deal is better than being manipulated and abused by accepting a bad deal.

I think the idea of ‘accepting a bad deal’ is a red herring. Plainly if the government or indeed the EU think it’s bad then they won’t sigb up to it. The whole point of this thread I thought was that a lot of people not involved in the negotiations WILL think it’s bad: hence ‘Brexit in name only’

errr no, the whole point was that somebody thought they were introducing something (BRINO) that nobody else was aware of and hence garner a reputation as being in the know re all things Brexit and a smart and clever person..but its backfired as most of us know better..

Think if ever Brexit does happen ,and as forecast we have to start stockpiling,
Queuing at borders. grounding of planes . Motorway hard shoulders stacked with Queuing trucks etc, people wil blame it on the Tories for decades to come.
