yeah tony I never confessed to being hit by an adult
in case I got another one - for doing something that made an adult hit me
Maybe so tony, but I'm sure your peers suffered the same punishment.

Yes anne, many in my circle suffered the same.

ummmm Doesn't make it right, Tony, it's lazy authority.

No it doesn't make it right, ummmm.

Usually doesn't work anyway ( didn't with my mates and I anyway ).
That's exactly what it is Pixie. It's to relieve the smackers frustration when what they really need to be doing is speaking.

I've told kids off that weren't my own but I'd just talk to them in a stern voice and explain. Kids do actually listen.
Mmm bit young for a slap
They listen, yes, if you talk.
The only impression this child has got is that the bus driver is violent.
Could of been worse. If the kids at the bus stop set this up with phone cameras for their little mate to perform his stunt then they were lucky that the driver decided in a split second thinking,"mon dieu. Merde. I better not slam on ze brakes and risk death or injury to my frail old hommes est mesdames I will swerve to take avoiding actions and slap, bang, crash, tinkle, tinkle he takes out the bus stop and twenty school kids.
Most of us will have slammed brakes on to avoid a child. That does not relate at all to getting out of your car, crossing a road and then hitting them.

you mean even at your age you still run out in front of buses - when they come nowadays that is ! - sort of every week - long wait etc
Yes- but then you can get hit by 3 at once ;-)
Nope. Every post I've written supports the driver, saying that (rather than a medal) he needs help and support to overcome his road rage issues before he really harms someone.

Bit late but just noticed this one, in reply to me.

Truly diabolical!! What ‘road rage’ issues has he got???
Really harms someone?
What all the do-gooders have failed to notice is whilst he didn’t save the boys life his quick responses at the wheel prevented his death!!
He didn’t use his vehicle to ram someone in a fit of pique, he was placed in a frightful situation through idiocy and prevented a tragedy. He’s allowed a free slap in my book that will hopefully bring the child to his senses. The boys mother owes him a huge debt of gratitude if anything! She’s still got a son to hold and cherish.

Road rage?!? SERIOUSLY??
The driver clearly does need help. Avoiding hazards is a part of driving. He isn't judge and jury.
Spot on chilldoubt. As I wrote earlier the driver could of taken a different action and taken out the bus queue because of this kids stupidity. Yes it is a shame the kid was slapped by a total stranger. It would be better if his parents had done it first and taught the kid the error of his ways and the consequences of h
is actions
I suspect they taught him how to cross a road and for whatever reason, he did something stupid that day.

Oh dear.......

The amount of road-kill out there suggests there’s a lot of Stevie Wonder’s at the wheel then I guess!

Sheesh.
Even a professional trained driver who is trained to foresee and react to hazards cannot expect that diesel slick on the road. You brake heavily on that to avoid a kid and you have lost control of the vehicle.
What diesel slick? We have all slammed on brakes to avoid hitting something or someone. It doesn't give you the right to get out and slap them though- especially a child.
I meant with his road rage, Chill.

I’d refer you to my previous response to Elipsis and ask again:
What road rage?
You’re getting road rage hugely confused with taking emergency avoiding action and preventing a tragic death of an idiotic child.
Not at all. I meant the slap. It isn't that confusing.
Trying to avoid a human in the path of your vehicle, is not heroic. It is normal behaviour.
Assaulting the person afterwards, is not.
Of course it was road rage!
