I know you scoff at this but it is a real concern amongst the farming community who struggle to get 'Brits' to do hard manual labour.
Then the farming community should offer pay that does attract the labour market. The market is supposed to set value isn't it ? Meanwhile the benefit system may need tweaking if folk aren't prepared to provide for themselves when the opportunity is there.

I think you'd need to talk to the Supermarkets about that as I'm pretty sure it's them who drive wages down as the tighten the screws on farmers to produce food for the minimum of profits.

You can have all the training programmes you want but if schools aren't producing pupils who have the qualifications or inclination to go into the industry, they're a white Elephant.
Exactly - the supermarkets who buy the majority of milk produce pay less a pint than it costs to produce. That is disgusting.
Visa system, that's all that is required. Work force bolstered temporarily where needed with the correct skills.

Those from Eastern Europe are mainly white.
