/// Following the findings, the BBC’s Director of Diversity Tunde Ogungbesan has launched a major reform to make the Corporation more “trans-friendly”. ///

/// He also revealed that 11 percent of BBC employees were lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), but said he still did not consider the Corporation to be diverse enough. ///

This is hardly news.

The BBC employs a higher ratio or artistic creative people than most companies, and these professional areas have always attracted a higher proportion of gay employees.

Tomorrow - shock news - a lot of actors are gay!!!!
I wonder what the proposed debate here is AOG?

Are people supposed to be shocked?

Are they supposed to care one way or the other?

I'm not, and I don't.
BBC very diverse ... Pope still Catholic ... Bears still refusing to use indoor toilet facilities?
I can’t really see any effect on the BBCs (mostly) excellent programmes, especially dramas. So I couldn’t care less about their internal policies. At the moment.

No, shock news the BBC uses licence payers money to employ a 'Director of Diversity'.
How do you know they are using license payer’s money, rather than other sources of income?

Don't be silly it all goes in the same pot, without the public's licence money there would be no BBC.

Ah, so you meant ‘partly funded’.

There’s a whole department with a £2.1m ringfenced fund, you know. I would imagine that news will send you apoplectic.
I suppose it depends on how much influence that group has on content and commissioning and if it is positively biased towards that group. Ie is there an unusual amount of programming or content dedicated to that group.

TBH the Beeb is biased in so many ways but as long as this group (or nay other for that matter) doesn’t over influence I couldn’t give a monkeys who the BBC employs.

If they care to employ me as a (slightly) older white heterosexual married, born female and still female I’d be happier lol

Couldn't care less, I don't pay for a licence, good job too since I don't wish to be brain washed by their political correctness, at my own expense.
Well done the BBC.....for employing people that are a fair representation of the population.....almost glad to pay my license fee...! No I am not ..too much football and tennis ATM!
Of course that ridiculous comic the Mail does chuck it out there to set their small minded readership tutting!

What about these previous employees?

Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Stuart Hall, Gary Glitter, Jonathan King.
To be fair though Malloy the beeb didn’t know they employed them. So not so much well done BBC really.
I'm still trying to figure out how "trans gender" is possible.

Well done the BBC.....for employing people that are an 'OVER REPRESENTATION' of the population....
//Well done the BBC.....for employing people that are a fair representation of the population..//

according to the ONS, the amount of people who identify as LGBT in the UK is 2.3%. a representation of 11% within the BBC could not really be called "fair representation", except maybe in a maths class hosted by Diane Abbott.
//Well done the BBC.....for employing people that are a fair representation of the population//

Fair representation, eh.

Let's test that hypothesis using the Brexit benchmark.

What percentage of the population voted for and support Brexit?
What percentage of people working in the BBC voted for and support Brexit?

If you couldn’t care less AOG, what prompted you to post the question?
Great fun to watch the Beeb's political commentators during the night of the Brexit vote and in the aftermath.

Psychological meltdown. Witless and Wark on Newsnight good example.

Biggest example of mass hysteria since the Devils of Loudun incident and before Trump Derangement Syndrome. seized America
