Yet another vacuous speech by Mrs May trying to be all things to all people.
No detail, vague assertions, still no solution to the Irish border question, further erosion of the devolution settlement etc, etc.
It would be hilarious if it were not so serious.

Not very, "strong and stable," was it?
One of her 'Red Lines' for an acceptable 'Brexit' is that it must be acceptable to the entire UK. Not much hope of that so far.

I was surprised yesterday when none of the ( AB leavers) commented on the very crucial speech from Mrs. May ?
oh dear another VB love in. Did the nasty wasty public vote the wrong way? you lost get over it.

it's very simple, it just bee made complex.
Excellent , ttt has arrived, would you give us your opinion of TM speech yesterday ?
One issue above all else - we can't vote the commissars out, so let's get out asap.
10.39 What is " bee made complex "???. Is it some kind of honey
Codeword ?
Ohh deep joy...for months the Remoaners have been demanding details as they twist in the wind with increased anguish. Mrs May does just that and still the EU fanatics squeal in hysteria. Led by Blair, Heseltine, Major, and assorted, sundry, anti British chokers, and Corbyn apologists. Get on with it.......we can tweak their noses whilst we continue to tweak the "regulations" as we take back our rightful control of our own destiny. If the first and second generation immigrants amongst us dislike it, they can return to whence they came surely. As for NI. I would like nothing better than eventually handing the problem over to Eire. Of course the people who live in NI and do not want no part of Dublin rule can also return to their roots...........Scotland. :))
With out taking sides I don,t think we will ever, ever be completely out of the EU
Partially maybe but not completely.
Togo; Bismark said of the 'Irish problem' (which is always with us)
that the solution of the Irish question lay in having the Irish swap countries with the Dutch. He added that the Dutch would make Ireland the most beautiful island in the world while the Irish would neglect to mend the dykes left to them by the Dutch and therefore would be drowned.
bang on togo.
I listened to May’s speech woth a mounting feeling of boredom. A lot of words, but she didn’t really say anything.
We’ll have to see how this pans out, but I was left feeling less optimistic after her speech.
Indeed. I read in the press today how tactically astute she has been and how she has caught the Euromaniacs off guard, etc.

The fact is the speech was more of the same. Plenty of vague promises, a few veiled threats and a lot of waffle.
I also listened to ms. May yesterday, in IMO , a long speech of which I understood nothing . I would welcome anyone who can tell me what the 5 points were she talked about . ?thanks in advance .
The Mail as ever highlights the points, quotes them and then interprets them. Proper news reporting.
T May was saying .davy left ,somebody had to get us through this exit business .so Im doing it even though I’ve no idea . keeping on talking saying nothing bring on 2020 March then it’s some body else’s problem ..Would that be a fair account of t mays speech
Both remain and leave supporters will not get everything they want. That one was obvious.

We will still need to pay for the privilege of being in specific aspect of the EU. That is also obvious because you can't be in, say security, and not pay your share.

We will have to defer to the ECJ in all matters relating to EU contracts. I suppose we have to have an end stop somewhere to arbitrate but the ECJ is hardly impartial!!

Trade will not be as frictionless as it is as present because we will leave the common market, customs area and whatever else it is. She is saying this for a few reasons. That I can think of at the moment is, no new trade deal will be as good because we want to take back control of borders and movement of people, we want to forge our own trade deals around the world,, both of which they don't like or really want.

So we will end up being a bit in and a bit out.
