Is there a smear campaign being orchestrated by MI5, the press and the millionaire elite to stop Jeremy Corbyn from being the next PM?

Is democracy now under threat from the activities of these people who are now resorting to black propaganda in order to stop the electorate from voting for a future Labour government?

Ha haha ha haha hahahaha.

This is such a funny post and one that only a 'Corbin supporter no matter' what could pen.

Actually the Labour die hards on this site tend to phrase bad news about their dear leader/party in 'it's a conspiracy' and not believe a word said against them and fan faint at anything they think is the best thing since sliced bread.

And THAT is why some posters have little or no credibility. They ignore what they can't justify.
COB reminds me of Rasputin, both physically and intellectually (I use the latter word with reservations).
mikey: "JJ...as you can see, some posters resort to personal attacks on any left-winger that dares raise its head ! " - I assume you refer to JD at 18:51 - He's merely aping your own frequent comments regarding voters that vote in a way you do not agree with.

Nope, he's managing to do that all by his self. Even more so now it turns out he was a spy ;-)
Unfortunately, the documents identifying Corbyn as a (probably unwitting) source for Czech intelligence do appear to be genuine. I think this casts irredeemable doubts about his character and lack of judgement, not to mention his wisdom.

There is of course another problem - which is that right-wing press have cried wolf so many times over Labour leaders being dangerous commies (recall, for example, the cynical smears published about Ed Miliband's late father, and also much of the coverage about Gordon Brown), that when a genuine one is actually at the helm the accusation simply doesn't seem to stick in the way that it should.

It's a very bleak situation.

kromo; "Unfortunately, the documents identifying Corbyn as a (probably unwitting) source for Czech intelligence do appear to be genuine" - why is it unfortunate? Surely it's good for the public to know who the LoTO really is.
Not a Labour supporter by think Jeremy Corbyn talks a lot of sense. Will now duck down behind a high wall!
If the wall is high ... why bother ducking?
maggie, even if he occasionally talks sense do you really want a known spy as Loto? potentially PM?

Nah Barry's a Nigel.
//why is it unfortunate?//

I think it would obviously be preferable not to have the leader of opposition be a complete idiot.
A smear campaign? You are joking right?

When this first came out I did post saying I thought it was another trial by meda based on 'allegations'. It would appear from later released documents it is genuine so I would like to see an official investigation (Wont take long as if true MI5 will have the info) and the results given to the public.

IF he has done this, either wittingly or unwittingly then it is very serious indeed.
I thought that ^ was going to be about Keith
Nah, he's still to busy trying to peddle a washing machine.
Kromovaracun, virtually every Labour leader has been accused of being a communist, from Macdonald via the Zinoviev letter, through Churchill smearing Attlee to Wilson being investigated by MI5 to "Agent of interest" Foot. To some extent it goes with the territory, Labour being an internationalist party (ironically, Corbyn himself isn't one). All these claims were thought plausible by Tories - the Attlee smear was the only one definitively rejected by voters. But they were all lies.
I know, jno, I'm familiar with the history. This is one of the reasons why I didn't take the fears about Corbyn terribly seriously. Ed Miliband was likewise subjected to disgraceful "Red Scare" rhetoric because his father was a socialist (and also because he supported an energy price cap - a policy later stolen by May).

The thing is, the evidence in this particular case does seem convincing. To disbelieve it, I would have to believe that there is some elaborate forgery and conspiracy being done in connection with Czech archivists. Which isn't impossible, but I just can't bring myself to believe that this is plausible or likely without further evidence.
I'd be amazed if Corbyn was a spy. Naive twit more like. They probably started the spy grooming process, but decided he wasn't going to be of any use.
