I hope he's told my nephew and his wife (who are both 32 and who both voted to leave). In 10 years time the youngsters will thank the Wrinklies for extracting them from the protectionist, anti-democratic sclerotic organisation that is the EU. In 15 years time they will wonder what all the fuss was about. By the time they are Wrinklies themselves they will say "Oh...

I am almost 70,next month if anyone does cake!, and our friends are of a similar age group, 60-80, of those only 1, my OH, voted Leave and he has taken so much stick over it both from our children and the rest of our group.

Peter that is a good way of doing it, we didn't actually formally decide to agree but did so anyway in the end - as you say we are leaving things for them to deal with.

Here we go again, Leavers are uneducated and old. So how come you didnt vote leave then Mickey?

My kids and nephews voted out. They have degrees and there is a doctor and a nuclear scientist amongst them. Are they ill educated and old?
Obviously not "all" leavers are old and not "all" remainers young, but there is a very strong tendency in that direction.

Aaranovitch seems right to me. It's highly probably that if the referendum took place in 2020, the result would have been different.

It's also a bit of a useless point, because the referendum didn't take place in 2020, it took place in 2016. So it's 2016 demographics that count. I suppose he could be suggesting we should have another one, but that's fundamentally different. It's not clear at all that Remain voters actually want another referendum to happen - so if it did, it's not very clear how they would vote or even if they would vote in it at all.

So he's probably right. But it's meaningless information anyway.
Same old thinly disguised BS from the VB, if you voted leave you must be thick. PMSL!
Guilbert at 17:22 yesterday has hit the nail on the head. Once the twists get uncle of paying for the show the house of cards will collapse.
People who continually promote themselves as intellectually superior to others protest too much – and it shows. ;o)
