The difficulty here is that the original sentence wasn't long enough.
// why is this vile man being released from prison //

He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment, 8 years ago.
Question Author
i am so shocked at this, dozens of rapes and sexual assaults, had this been USA he wouldn't come out. Why is he being released even under heavy licence.
Question Author
gromit,
so that's all right then, how did he only get 8 years in the first place.
You'd have to read the court transcripts from back then, of course we'd all rather he wasn't out there but there is procedure to follow.
Perhaps some of the male relatives of his victims will have a word or two in his shell like.
According to articles from the time, the sentence Worboys received was, in fact, "indefinite", with a minimum of eight years before parole. So it seems he has been released at essentially the earliest possible opportunity. I hope that the parole board have made the correct judgement in this case.
Question Author
or has this slippery bstard got round the parole board, like he got round his victims.
-- answer removed --
If he puts one foot wrong or breaches any of his parole conditions he will be straight back in chokey.
Question Author
"
"they will be kept in if they are considered to be a danger to the public after their sentence, which this man, clearly was not considered to be. "

how many rapes, sexual assaults do you have to commit before being sent to prison for life.
Perverse could describe the haste with which he's been shoved out the door.
You'd like to think that the bare minimum supervision would involve checking that he's not running around in a private hire car any time soon.
I despair of our not fit for purpose justice system. This creature should never again walk our streets. Common sense should dictate that this thing will eventually reoffend. Not my fault says judge just following guidelines.

Thanks for the correction, the original sentence did say an indefinite jail term.
Seems like he has been released at the earliest possible time.
Apparently there were many women who only came forward after the publicity generated by his trial, so that means there are many offenses that he has not been prosecuted for. So a new trial is possible.
dam savage should not see the light of day again if you ask me. 8 years for 100+ rapes, very light.
Question Author
not that it will compensate but i hope that his victims will sue him, or if not able to get some justice from the system that jailed him And no i don't know what that might be, his victims number near 100, going on the article.
the fact that he'll be straight back in jail if he breaches his bail conditions won't be much consolation to his potential victim

"If he puts one foot wrong or breaches any of his parole conditions he will be straight back in chokey. " - if only that was true JD
Tora,
He wasn’t convicted of 100 rapes.

// He was convicted of one rape, five sexual assaults, one attempted assault and 12 drugging charges committed from July 2007 to February 2008. //

That is my point. There is ample material for further trial(s) and more jail time.
yes but he's suspected of over 100, probably did most of them.
