ZM your link shows there is no right to a UK passport and UK citizens can be left stateless in certain scenarios,

"British citizens are not entitled to a British passport. The passport does not confer
citizenship; it is merely evidence of it. Passports are issued at the discretion of the
Home Secretary under the Royal Prerogative and can be withdrawn through the use of
the same discretionary power"

"The Home Secretary may make an order to deprive a person of
British citizenship status in any of the following circumstances:
• The Home Secretary considers that deprivation “is conducive to the public good”, and would not make the person stateless
(s40 (2); s40 (4));
• The person obtained his citizenship status through registration
or naturalisation, and the Home Secretary is satisfied that this was obtained by fraud, false representation or the concealment of any material fact (s40 (3));
• The person obtained his citizenship status through naturalisation, and the Home Secretary considers that deprivation is conducive to the public good because the person has conducted themselves “in a manner which is seriously prejudicial to the vital interests of the United Kingdom, any of the Islands, or any British overseas territory”, and the Home Secretary has reasonable grounds to believe that the person is able to become a national of another country or territory under its laws (s40 (4A)).
In the second and third scenarios, deprivation of citizenship is
permissible even if the person would be left stateless."

// If her action is treasonable //

She went to Syria in support of fighters attacking Assad’s oppressive regime. Meanwhile the British Government were doing exactly the same.

Thecorbyloon,

It would make G3 Stateless, and she is not naturalised, she was born here.
I was making the point that there is no right to a passport and that a person can also be left stateless, not that the review decision was wtong.
Withhold aid to Bangladesh until they claim this pos back.
Same thing for all those who are British in name only.
-- answer removed --
SPICERACK, she was born in the UK so why should another country claim her?
TCL, the article I gave a link to also says:
Rights as a British subject
You can:
hold a British passport

It is a ‘right’ but it isn’t automatic.
"She went to Syria in support of fighters attacking Assad’s oppressive regime. Meanwhile the British Government were doing exactly the same. " - good anti British spin Gromit!
We were fighting the really bad guys that does not mean we were supporting Assad slightly less bad guys.
THECORBYLOON
//SPICERACK, she was born in the UK so why should another country claim her?//

If you had bothered to read all my post (before it mysteriously disappeared) I did say people who are British in name only.
A rat born in a stable is not a thoroughbred racehorse.
She was born in the UK.
SPICERACK, why should Bangladesh claim her if she doesn't qualify for their citizenship?
I think spicey has been at the Egg Nog again.
// We were fighting the really bad guys that does not mean we were supporting Assad slightly less bad guys. //

I think you have lost the plot mate. UK Government and ISIS were fighting Assad’s regime.
If the British and US had been successful in removing Assad, Syria would now be part of Islamic State’s caliphate.
the government were supporting IS gromit? right oh! if you say so.
Where has Gromit stated that Tora?
Bad timing TTT.
SpecSavers is now shut until Wednesday.
ZM: at 13:35 and 14: 36
Erm.....no he didn’t. Read them again.
no doubt I'm walking into som ZM semantic bowlocks but OK here goes: 13:35 "She went to Syria in support of fighters attacking Assad’s oppressive regime. Meanwhile the British Government were doing exactly the same. " - she went in support of (IS) fighters attacking Assad...... RIGHT?? now "Mean while the British Government were doing the same, ie also supporting IS fighters. RIGHT I read it ZM analysed it, OK?
