the equivalent (allowing for different technology) of Protestants and Catholics killing each other under the Tudors, and indeed elsewhere in Europe, or of the killings of Christians by atheists in the USSR. I don't know that any faith persecution is better or worse than any other.

I get a Muslim 'extremist' group attacking other Muslims of a diiferent hue. But a mosque? Surely they have at least a respect for the institution in common.

Plenty of other incidents of mosque bombings in Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq to mention a few I think I've seen reported recently. Usual perpetrators Sunnis and usual targets are Shia mosques. This time it's a Sufi one.

I have always thought that Islam is about 600 years behind Christianity . They are still killing each other just because they are a different branch of the same religion . 600 years ago you would have been burnt alive in England just for being a protestant. Islam still thinks the same way.

I can't agree that Muslim killing Muslim is worse than Muslim killing non-Muslim.

Killing anyone for any reason is a tragedy - the finer points of religious dogma really don't enter into it.
