Does he actually still know where he is? He seemed to be reading a speech someone else had written, and he's barely awake half the time.
Ludwig; Maybe he's a glove puppet, he certainly looked like one.

I can't understand what the Military is doing here. He has been sacked, so put him back into house arrest and get on with fresh elections. ......he is still dangling everyone from a thread here, and making fools of them.
After the deadline, an official source with direct knowledge of negotiations tells CNN that Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has agreed to terms of his resignation and a letter has been drafted...
He’s only been sacked as he’d of ZANU-PF. Constitutionally he is still in office until impeached. As I posted earlier the army may actually not necessarily be against him. It’s his own party. This is not a good situation
Under the terms of the deal, Mugabe and his wife Grace would be granted full immunity, CNN say...
Undoubtedly. There are two ways of looking st this: new start and let bygones be bygones, of perpetuate a corrupt political establishment by tying the fortunes of the previous incumbent into those of the incoming leaders.

Itchy.....The Army acted, at last, although one wonders why they didn't do so years ago, while there was still some kind country to save. But, in the end, the coup came about.

The Army should stop faffing about and finish the job. This dreadful man is an embarrassment to everybody, even his own Party, and every day that they allow him to continue with this daft pantomime, the worse the situation gets.
This "coup" feels more to me like an internal party affair.
Until I see evidence to the contrary I will be very sceptical.
They don't want Grace Mugabe up and at 'em I suspect is the height of it.
However, the people may now feel empowered to demand fresh elections, so maybe there is a chance there.

Robert Mugabe has resigned as president of Zimbabwe, the speaker of parliament has said.
Well that's progress of a sort. Wonder what he was eventually promised.
OG, probably offered 'keep your ill-gotten gains and take your wife and go and live elsewhere'
Ah. I expect we'll be seeing him soon then ;-)
