if a sovereign can't even take care of where her money goes, how can she care for her people?
The fact that she never handles money now seems like an evil omen rather than a boast. If only she'd developed the habit of popping into the Co-Op Bank to deposit her pay cheque, all these advisors would have been unnecessary. (Though credit to them for realising that British banks don't offer much interest these days.)

I think she should realise she should have had the sense to lay down a few rules regarding how the vast wealth that she has accumulated should be invested. Clearly it never occurred to those concerned that it would put the monarchy in a bad light to be disvovered avoiding taxes in the country that she's the Head of State for. Speaks volumes for the way UK citizens are considered.
The entire furore about tax avoidance is entirely bogus.
Rich people avoid tax because they can - why wouldn't they?
The fault lies entirely with our over-complex taxation system which is riddled with loopholes, which are exploited entirely legally by those with the expertise or the funds to do so.
If the government and the media don't want people avoiding tax, then speak to the people who collect it, and get them to amend the laws that legally permit such avoidance, and then no-one can avoid tax.
It's not difficult to solve this issue - but let's be sure we don't criticise people for doing what they are legally entitled to do to protect their own finances.

The Hong Kong system is the best I have seen/experienced.
15% tax, paid on 50% of last years income and 50% on estimated next year (adjusted on actual) - no deductions other than a basic amount which used to be £10k and probably nearer 20k now - and if you are responsible for a disabled dependent or elderly. That's it.
People pay as a result, and the HK Tax office has the lowest number of staff /1000 residents than anywhere else.
