the BBC says he pushed the goalkeeper, which doesn't sound quite the same as punched. I didn't see it so I can't say.

The Everton player, Ashley Williams pushed the goalkeeper, not the fan. That foul caused the melee and all the players ended up on the advertising hoardings. It was then that the fan ‘tried to punch’ but missed.

Everton deserve a big fine, and a ban from Europe. The player should expect a suspension for at least 5 games.

The referee was useless, his card should be marked as well.

I've had a look at the video; if I'm looking at the right person (I can't see if he's got a child), he seems to literally push back a player who's leaning over the fence (not the player's fault particularly, he's just caught up in the melee). Considering there's a mass brawl going on, it's surely the players who should be facing bans, not the bystander.

He did have a child in his arms. It showed it fairly clearly on the news. What baffled me is he's been banned from Everton matches 'with or without a child'

They circled him. For the most of it you couldn't actually see the child because of the position he was standing in. He tried to hold the child away from the fight but continued to try and join in. Stupid man.

People get caught up in the heat of the moment, but when you have your child in your arms, there is only one thing you should be doing in that situation - moving towards the exit as quickly and safely as you can.
