I have just heard an official in Texas describe this as the worst flooding in American history but will it finally change Trump's mind about his attitude to climate change ?

Not just the POTUS either. The op ignores the ordinary folk caught up in the terrible disaster and makes no attempt to show empathy or consideration of their tribulations. An insult to the memories of the dead and complete disregard for the people suffering. If there are any American people looking in, I offer my apologies for the crass question, and would tell you that some of us are thinking of you.
Seconded.
I agree with naomi, the hurricane season will continue regardless of climate change measures, President Trump is no King Canute.

But listening to the radio and watching TV, it is amazing how the media are waiting with bated breath on how Trump acts over this natural disaster.

Once false step, one wrong word, and they will be at him like a pack of hyenas.

Thank you Zacs. We have an accord.
I had a CV-R once.

Oh yeah, and an Accord bought for £500 when times were tough.
"Once false step, one wrong word, and they will be at him like a pack of hyenas."

I know, so unfair, no president was treated so before.

Or, alternatively, it's just part and parcel of such a job, with its high public profile and all that entails.

Haha that makes you personally responsible for a goodly portion of "climate change" Zacs. :))
personally, I can't stand him.
However, he very quickly signed an 'executive order' (?) releasing funds and loads of assistance to those caught up in this.
So, well done to him on that. No dithering about.
Ha Togo. Nice one. One was petrol and one diesel. Guilty!
To answer your question without doubt No. I

Will ask you one now: Why do you think it should given the area this has occurred in?

I too would like to offer my condolences to the families of the bereaved. Lets hope there are not many more and that the displaced folk will be able to get back asap. I doubt there will be any fundraising for them so it's good to see DT putting executive orders to good use.
//I doubt there will be any fundraising for them//

Why?
Hurricanes are normal for the area. 55 inches of rain in such a short space of time is not normal for the area and as a result this has been described as the biggest flood ever to hit the USA.

There are three camps: climate change deniers; those who accept climate change is taking place, but believe that humans have no influence on it; and those who accept climate change is taking place and believe that humans have an influence on it.

Which camp Trump in is unclear - he's said so many different, contradictory things that put him in each camp . I think he's probably in the third camp but it doesn't really matter because, whatever his opinion, he is more concerned by other issues that would be harmed by taking large-scale action on climate change. The world may become a worse place for the masses through climate change, but as long as the world is a better place for Trump and his descendants, what's to worry about? ... is the attitude.

So no, you won't see Trump changing his mind on climate change. Not until it becomes a threat to him personally, to the extent that it outweighs the benefits he is getting by ignoring it.
.//Texas describe this as the worst flooding in American history //m

//It's the hurricane season - the hurricane season happens every year - but don't let that stop you Trump bashing.// someone

hahahaha I love the way the usual suspects construct points consistent with the original comment

[yeah OK there COULD be a hurricane season every year
and the flooding could always be the worst yet
if the flooding pattern were "monotonic increasing" -
but it isnt ]

does anyone find the reporting incongruous
" I prayed to ma sweet Lord to save me and ma baybee ! and I saw others swept away and I praised the Lord !"

dont they realise that the Lord sent them the storm to test them?
