“…wander to somewhere along the route of the march. You'll both be very welcome and have an excellent time. :o)” Two or three years ago I was unfortunate enough to be “somewhere along the route of the march”, not wandering but trying to go about my business. I’m not sure whether or not I was welcome (I would like to hope I was not). This was because my...

I realise my memory isn't as good as it once was, but please just to enlighten me and those others, where did I ever post that I "abhorred the flying boobies" and also "outraged by men in speedos".

I would just like to clear this matter up, and that I did actually state those things or is it just more lies about me from yourself?
AOG could you just clarify what you meant by the words 'need' and 'exercise' in your OP?

AOG could you just clarify what you

NEED : expressing necessity or obligation.

EXERCISE : an activity carried out for a specific purpose.

It just takes a simple Google search, I am also willing to explain how you can carry out that EXERCISE sometime, if the NEED arises.

But not today, I have other things to do.
Interesting (if slightly condescending....but no change there). I thought you might resort to dictionary definitions instead of the more subtle connotations within the context of your question.

I don't believe there is a 'need' to have the event. There's no 'need' for many celebrations of life.

As for calling it an 'exercise', i think this belies your underlying attitude that they're doing this for some ulterior reason.
God, this pointless thread is still going...

This seems to boil down to the fact that some people are flamboyantly (rather than quietly) gay, and other people don't like it. And for some reason think that is a convincing reason to stop having parades or openly gay celebrities talking about their sexuality.

Maybe, just maybe.... if you don't like Graham Norton or Alan Carr... don't watch their shows and don't read their columns. I can't stand either of them. I have vanishingly little contact with their work. Likewise, if you don't like Pride for some reason (ahem), then perhaps maybe don't go and accept that there are enough people in the country who consider it worthwhile enough to put on.

The dizzying levels of entitlement in this thread are beyond belief.
No, they're not ...
I was there on Saturday (by coincidence, not design)and saw very few 'flamboyant' displays. Just thousands of people feeling comfortable in their own skin. There seemed to be many many heterosexual couples in attendance, supporting them.
"This seems to boil down to the fact that some people are flamboyantly (rather than quietly) gay, and other people don't like it."

Not for me it doesn't. It boils down to nothing of the sort. But after 368 answers and still being accused (essentially) of being homophobic, I've largely lost the will to live.
Well perhaps it didn't help that you started off talking about "weirdos and creeps" -- and after that, I think there's a lot of "methinks he doth protest too much" from some corners.
Do you think Best Answer should be renamed 'Answer which fits best with my jaundice view of the world'?

And can you definitely say that there are not any "weirdos and creeps" amongst the Homosexual community, just as there are amongst the Heterosexual community?
I'm sure you're trying to make a point with that question, AOG, but whatever that point is meant to be is utterly lost on me.

/// Do you think Best Answer should be renamed 'Answer which fits best with my jaundice view of the world'? ///

Why are you hankering after one or two best answers?
But no one uses the term "weirdos and creeps" as a sort of all purpose, covers everything, blanket definition of heterosexuals.
I don't want to search for where you have been called homophobic, NJ..

I have said that your comments were rude, ill mannered and hurtful......and that is something you should be ashamed and sorry about......

Once again, your displeasure at being late was your fault but you could have blamed the parade without the rudeness...x
AOG, you currently have 65 BA's out of 34543 posts. I currently have 227 out of 24226. As the bloke with the wiggly moustache says.....Go Compare!

Well then let me explain by using your own words.

Well perhaps it didn't help that you started off talking about "weirdos and creeps"
Jim was quoting the person you gave BA to AOG.
