Another question for the Enquiry.

Look at the link video.... nothing will now convince me that the cladding didn't play a pivotal role in allowing the fire to spread so far and so fast.

of course it did ,why do think differently ,the bbc newsnight prog last night had a section about the lack of suitable fire / firemans equipment ,watch it on iplayer
Thought that was given.
^ a given.
i also thought that was the case, what worries me is our building has cladding and external gas pipes, and no sprinklers or way to get out except our main staircase.

Ivor....I don't think differently. It was obvious within the first few days, that the cladding was to blame.

But at the normal rate of progress that Enquiries move, it may be months or even years until everybody accepts that cladding is at fault.
our council has now the job of clearing cladding on a lot of its tower blocks, and moving people out who don't feel safe. no idea where they will be able to go considering there is a shortage of council property.
It was a faulty fridge freezer that caused the fire. Yes the cladding exacerbated it, but didn't cause it.
mikey.......I think that when the Enquiry finally reaches a conclusion, the cause of the disaster may well be multi-factorial.

Emmie....not sure where you live but I hope your local Council has a better go at dealing with this than Kensington.

camden council, who are moving people out of one estate. not sure whether thats a safety precaution or a knee jerk reaction as one person suggested. still i'd rather be safe than sorry.
mikey it really is the fact this type of cladding was responsible for the spread upwards and coming off all blocks in england now as i understand including the tower block were in (top floor) and have no worries about fires here,
its my conclusion that the upward spreading of flames were attacking the stair well windows and the heat would have smashed (or if acrylic melted them) hence the horrific internal spread of the fire.
its one of the most horrendous scenes i have seen on tv and that includes the twin towers

Ivor...and all entirely avoidable.
//nothing will now convince me that the cladding didn't play a pivotal role in allowing the fire to spread so far and so fast. //

Really? I prefer to wait and see the facts first. But then, unlike you, I hate trial by media.
they are also saying that the newly instored gas pipes spread the fire - that is the cladding starte dit but it was spread by other factors

obvious something to inquire about
Question Author
YMB...we have all seen the video of the fire........do you really think that the cladding will not be found to have a pivotal role ?
