The self-pleasuring fest of victimhood (we are the ones being attacked, please - no we demand that you - protect us from these crazed right-wing murderers) is in full flood. BBC reporters are crying into their mikes.

Protect every mosque?

In France they've been protecting every synagogue for two years.

From whom?

Muslims.

"It was also reported that a few tried to lynch the killer"

Was this on LBC?

I saw reports in the Independent, Telegraph and the Guardian, and no attempted lynching was mentioned. All I read was that he was detained until police arrived, which in the circumstances was absolutely the correct thing to do.

I see the BBC have removed the video of the idiot with an obvious agenda.

Has anyone else noticed that?
"The police were quick to announce that they are classing it as a Far-Right terrorist attack"

I can only find references to the Met referring to this as a 'terror attack' (see below).

This is the full statement. Can anyone verify the 'Far Right terrorist attack' angle.

Was this simply some random person phoning into LBC?

Unfortunately, only those who saw the BBC report before the video was removed can verify this - the rest of us won't know anything about it, because it's no longer there.
This will be used (and is being used) to propose a false equivalence between genuine nutters and Islamic literalists, SP.

What are you trying to say?
AOG...I still cannot see any reference to the attempted lynching of the driver. It appears that the people who apprehended him, acted exactly as we would hope anybody would....they held him securely until the Police arrived and then handed him over.
I watched the BBC News between 5 and 6am, there was no mention of lynching in any reports.
(or even attempted lynching)
I still cant see how this is a "terror" attack. Has he been linked with an organisation that has a committed long running intention of causing terror?

Looks to me like he is just an idiotic piece of murdering scum. Putting him as a 'terrorist' will likely be used as propaganda by someone.
AOG.........perhaps you need to be more selective when it comes to news items. Did your DM say anything about lynchings, attempted or otherwise ?
youngmafbog

You raise a good point. But I think the border between murderer and terrorist is very blurred.

If someone with links to Al Qaeda or IS hires a van and mows down innocent people, I think we can all agree he is a terrorist.

However, if someone with no proven links to a terrorist organisation does the same, perhaps they should simply be regarded as murderers.

That would put this (alleged) murderer in the same category as the murderer of Jo Cox.
Unusally, I totally agree with YMB, I don't think this is a terror incident, and to hype is not helpful.
There was no lynching.

Here is a video of the man being detained by the crowd. He appears 'hysterical' so the mental health asessment will be interesting.

Most probably someone with mental health issues, a loner, .........................

Mikey,\\\AOG..I still cannot see any reference to the attempted lynching of the driver\\\

AOG///I can only go on what I heard on LBC radio news, early this morning, both attempted lynching and the Far-Right association was mentioned.
If all mention of them have now been removed for PC reasons, that is all part and parcel of the course these days///.

Radio Mikey, the answer was there all along. Tricky thing to see is the Spoken Word.
I am just amazed they didnt try to lynch them
unlike this account of a rough pub with even rougher punters ( non terrorist lynching)

"TWO hitmen from Moss Side were shot dead when their mission to execute someone at a Salford pub ended in disaster, a court heard."

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/conspiracy-charges-in-brass-handles-murders-983031

The street story is even better
two armed men went into a pub - the Brass Handles - their arms were taken off them and used to kill them. Bodies dumped outside on the green and ner ner when the police finally came, the punters said: " we know nothing about that officer - we were inside drinking"
PP, I gather the crowd were back by the imam (and pbuh too).
# Years ago, on here, I said this will happen and was dismissed as stupid. #

I remember a few posters. who said that Ummmm, and some were deleted, including mine!

#Unusually, I totally agree with YMB, I don't think this is a terror incident, and to hype is not helpful #

I dont think its a terrorist attack either Gromit, more likely a revenge attack!!!

I don't believe for one moment it was a Terrorist Attack, more of a Revenge Attack, but they're just not going to come out and say that, are they? I mean, you never know what it might encourage do you?.
And before someone spins this post I do not condone either this attack or previous ones.
