... "Vote Labour"

As an antidote to Lord Sugar endorsing the Tories, I give you Stephen Hawking (I know who I give more credence to).

He has reservations about JC (not policies but presentation), but still endorses Labour :

There are different 'real' worlds.
So far as I've always seen, "not living in the real world" is one of those convenient phrases that's useful for dismissing someone's opinion without having to make any real effort.
the "smartest man in the world" wants Dianne Abbot as home secretary? Right oh!
TTT, perhaps he doesn’t, but then he doesn’t want Jeremy Corbyn either, but if he votes Labour and they succeed, he gets both. Intelligence doesn’t necessarily equate to sense - as 'they' say.
Or, perhaps, he wants May et al even less.
Whilst (possibly) being a genius, a lifetime spent in the rarified world of academia doesn't qualify a person, however intelligent, to comment on real life. If the fact that Hawkins sways anyone to vote labour, then I pity their ignorance.
His remarks are not surprising as he has always been a Labour supporter.
What is with this bizarre attitude of inverted snobbery when being an academic means that you don't experience real life?
Also it's Hawking, not Hawkins -- although for some reason the extra "s" always seems to migrate into his name.
Jim, //Or, perhaps, he wants May et al even less. //

May less than Diane? Come on! Even you wouldn't want that, would you?
Point in case m'lud.
I've set out my stall for voting Labour already. I don't need to set it out again.

Besides which, as JD has often pointed out, a vote for Labour north of the border mainly only affects the SNP/Labour balance (likely in Opposition). It's for people in England to bring about a Labour government, if they wish.
So, (sorry Andy), your actually going to vote this time are you?
When did I not?
Erm...you don't recall our little 'spat' when you were pointificating about some political issue, only to admit you hadn't actually voted?
Jim, just out of interest, if you lived south of the border, would you prefer Diane to Theresa?

Interesting choice Naomi - but it's wrong.

The actual choice is a floundering, incompetent, out-of-her-depth, tax avoiding Amber Rudd or a floundering, incompetent, out-of-her-depth, hypocritical Diane Abbott .

Can I vote for 'neither of the above', please?
You already stated you are dintcha?
I recall the spat, to be sure. But as I remember it, I recall admitting that I only made my final decision at the ballot box, rather than never voting at all.

Naomi, I'll reply to your point separately, as I'm just trying to dig up the "spat" ZM's referring to.
Sunny-Dave, //Can I vote for 'neither of the above', please? //

You can - but whichever way you vote you're going to get one of them.
