I mean, as in understanding basic security requirements. (Who wants to harm us and why?)

Apparently our Tess still thinks that people who kill "for Allah" are perverting the great religion of Islam. It seems (according to Tess) that killing those Allah hates is a new doctrine being taught on the internet. by a few nutters and has no connection whatsoever with the traditional sources, the actions of its founder and the conduct of his successors.

PS: don't get me wrong - I know Corbyn is going to roll over and act dead. even earlier than Tess.

What a choice!

What are you on about?

I don't know, TTT.

Maybe I'll have to re-read my post and see if it makes sense,
Question Author
... and I will accord your posts the same respect.
Yes I would.....what I can't understand is why the Islamists want to see TM in power, as all this is doing (this month of Ramadan) is confirming to the floaters of us the electorate that TM would be the better choice to have as PM when it comes to dealing with the issues posted here. Never mind the IRA, Corbyn has been very pro Hamas and others and would be ineffectual, deliberately so or otherwise - not the leader that we need as PM. Surely, if I was a Syrian or whatever Islamic nutcase, I would be better off with Corbyn?

Your thoughts?
I wish our leaders would make an effort to understand Islam, but they don’t. Nevertheless, this morning Mrs May has said that the attacks are "bound together by the single evil ideology of Islamic extremism", so she’s getting there! Fit for government? Certainly the fittest on offer!
I must agree with Naomi. As Maggie said, There Is No Alternative.

Jackdaw, ne plus ultra, mate.
Sorry, but I'm not going down the foreign language route. I was lucky enough to get away with it last night.
"Enough is enough" I understand she said. if so then good.

I agree though she has a way to go to understand the real underlying issue. Perhaps she should give Our Nige a call and get some quick lessons.

I also totally agree there is no alternative.
v_e; It gets worse. Given that the UK Home Secretary's position is to oversee the UK anti-terrorism efforts, we need one with a high degree of tech-savvy, something that the present incumbent, Amber Rudd seems to be sadly lacking.

She has said that she is going to demand that Google 'take down' websites publishing terrorist materials, which is a grand ambition, but unfortunately Google doesn't publish the websites, it just lists them, and while it could stop people from using Google to find them, the sites would still be there.

Similarly, an expert I read says he found her "floundering on the subject of websites in particular and encrypted messages on WhatsApp in particular."

It might be a good idea to bring on 22 year old Marcus Hutchins as 'Special consultant to the Home Office' - he who stopped the WannaCry ransomware attack from spreading across the globe.

Amber Rudd, Khandro?

I had one of those in my pond until the heron got it.

No regrets. Live in the moment. Carpe diem.
v_e, just in case you’ve not seen it, Garaman has a question for you.

Apologies if you’ve already spotted it, but I’d be interested in your answer too.
I said, the hounds of spring are on winter's traces, but let it pass, let it pass.
I read the OP and wonder why it was suggested earlier today that no one is blaming all Muslims, only the extremists. The OP implies it is not a corruption by the few but all are tainted because the founder and their successors preach the violence. And there was I thinking ancient religions tended to hold violent views but evolved such that the majority knew how to filter out the bad stuff.
Well, you live and learn, OG. ;o)
I've already voted Tory by post, but I now wish I'd stuck with UKIP - a wasted vote I know, but I would feel better.
Khandro, console yourself. It's one more vote against this country getting a disastrous Labour government. You've done the right thing.
