The everyday story of UKIP folk !

A quote from the BBC link....."UKIP officials were unable to say who was leading the party"

James is another that Tory traitor, as she resigned from the Party only 5 years ago, so where does she go now ?

Farage has waiting in the wings apparently. They should consider putting him in a wall-mounted glass case, with a sign saying

" In case of a fiasco, please break glass"

Its a complete shambles, in the usual UKIP fashion.
"Yeh, we're terrified :-)"

lol anneasquith !
Not much 'commitment' there. She was the best of a motley bunch. Nigel has said that he's still technically leader but won't stand in any future contest. So as long as they don't hold one ...
Looks like UKIP is an albatross (or bogey more like) he can't shake off
UKIP....the gift to comedy that just keeps giving.

Just heard on the Today Program, that because UKIP cocked up the recent Leadership election, in registering with the Electoral Commission, Farage is still technically the Leader, whether he likes it or not.

Still.......It shouldn't be too much of an onerous task, as the Party only has one MP. He should be able to do that before he's had his first fag of the day.
A disinterested observer might think that Labour supporters had little to crow about when it came to leadership issues.
Douglas, quite. I didn’t notice Mikey chuckling when Farage achieved his David and Goliath moment a few months ago.
Dougie....no, we have an elected Leader now, and 232 MPs !
You do indeed, Mikey - and what a leader! As Douglas says, Labour supporters have little to crow about.
All this Mickey taking simply because the individual who won the leadership didn't have the strength to stand firm and pull the different factions together, as she said she would. If, now Farage who could pull the existing members into line, has stepped down, the party needs to change, then it needs someone mentally strong to ruthlessly wield the knives and carve out what is needed going forward. Get a team that represents that which is required, who will support the vision. Members need to know where the party is going and understand it is still the best one for them.

From the above .....Ms James took over UKIP at a time when it was beset by rifts and infighting.

When was UKIP NOT beset by rifts and infighting ? Did I miss that ?
OG....the difficulty with what you have just said, is that nobody knows what UKIP is for anymore, least of all UKIP itself.

It has now achieved its only goal and purpose. It never had any other policies.
It has no other role to play and never had. It was a one-issue Party.

I have made this point many times before but taking control of UKIP is akin to herding cats....even supposing anyone could do that, what happens then ? All you would have is an awful lot of angry cats, all in one place.
but taking control of Labour is akin to herding cats.

Very true.
well the work of UKIP is done they have achieved their aim, once A50 is invoked they should disband and join the Tories and get on with the important work of wiping the floor with Labour. In the interim Saint Nigel should steer the ship. Most political movements never achieve their stated aim so UKIP is pretty well up there on that score.
Apparently her excuse is that she didn't feel she had any authority.
Danny....when has any Leader of UKIP ever had any authority ?

I must have missed the few milliseconds in the past when it happened, if it ever did !
The fact that UKIP have achieved their aim will now make them irrelevant once Article 50 is implemented. The Labour party has more serious problems however as the lunatics are running the asylum. With the boundary changes which may well come to being before the 2020 election a number of moderate Labour MP's will be de-selected in favour of Momentum backed candidates, trotskyites by another name, thus making Labour unelectable for as long into the future as one can see.
Mikey
///Danny....when has any Leader of UKIP ever had any authority ?///
She meant authority over her own party members.
Just getting back to UKIP for a moment (sorry to change the subject :-) ) it seems that some people think Carswell and his defection was a one-man attempt to nobble Nigel. I am not sure, if true, if he would think that has worked out ...
The one obvious thing UKIP and Labour have in common is that neither leader had much support from their PLP (!)
I'd watch the Tories too, though. Mrs Deathmask is going to make a speech today that won't please a lot of them ...
Sorry, changed the subject again ...
Danny...and that is what I meant as well !

Grumpy..........I wonder if you were saying that in the lead-up to the 1997 Election ?
