The battle is on for second place. Leadsom or Gove? It doesn't really matter, Theresa can start measuring up the curtains tomorrow.
For the last two may be.
But this is simply MP popularity at the moment.
Question Author
Even if Gove is in the last two he won't win; Boris fans will never forgive him, and there are a lot of them. I don't think Leadsom is well-known enough.
Many Tories in the past have won the first round, and then gone on to fail in future rounds, so its far too early to tell yet.

With the current duplicitous behaviour of the Tories, anything is possible.

May has an absolute majority of MPs. Even if she doesn't pick up a single vote she still wins, providing she doesn't lose any (highly unlikely).
Not so sure, Jackdaw. May is making the right noises, but it is obvious why many don't trust her. Mrs. Leadsom has a nose in front if you look at a poll of party members (Conservative Home website). There is a long way to go i.m.o..
^^^ Grrr.......... The M.Ps. have to go back to face their constituencies this Summer, so influence could well be brought to bear.

I note that ten MPs did not vote, for whatever reason.
Ken Clarke has an opinion via BBC news ( sorry no link) he don't realize he could be heard .
Surprised Gove's vote held up. He got 48 votes which is amazing.

Just 5 months ago, Fox was favourite to replace Cameron. Interesting to look back at this...

As the last two will be known by next Tuesday at the latest, why does it take a full two months to organise a postal ballot of members?
Ken Clark, one of my favourite Tories, always has something interesting to say !

Come on, Mikey, cough up a pony, join the Tory party and have your say.
well if the Tories are having a "fiasco" - what are Labour having?!
I'd like to ask Mikey where he thinks the duplicity is - but he refuses to answer my questions. Can't think why. ;o)
