Jezbollah and friends will be cracking open a bottle of organically sourced, nettle wine.
Expect a rush from the anti British to demand the islanders be sacrificed. I don't see how UN has the power to divvy up the Oceans. The job of the UN is to wring their hands, talk a lot and elect a leader with a comical name. By definition they do not allocate planetary areas so gawd knows what this is about. Still Gromit and his ABF will be along in a minute to explain no doubt.

If possible, could you avoid the Telegraph as a linked story. It's just that the paper now has a paywall which means that you can only access the site about ten times month before you cannot access any more.
Does it not state there is a dispute making the decision a nonsense anyway ? Clearly Argentina is in the Falkland's maritime waters and thus should be under our jurisdiction.
Argentina did not exist as a state when Britain took possession of the Falklands..so O_G has a good point.

Just to be on the safe side, best not to put our Troops on Border Control duties just for the moment in my opinion.

Can you imagine Cameron being as tough as the late Baroness Thatcher?

No, he's a drip.

I am a little surprised that the UN has been caught doing something.

What a time to be caught with pants down. No carriers and no CAP. Essential for another amphibious landing. No parachute regiment as such either. Still it's early days. :-)

Perhaps that is why they haven't noticed what is happening to Europe?
The ruling appears to be based on the extent of the continental shelf (check Google Earth to see how the South American shelf extends around the Falklands).

By that logic, China owns Taiwan, Morocco owns the Canary Islands and France owns the UK.

And no doubt there would be numerous other disputed territories around the world ...
Perhaps the UN has heard what Donald the Duck Trump has been saying about it and thought they had better 'do something' before he is found out to be accurate for once!!!
Ellipsis, whilst France is claiming the UK, the UK can claim te Faeroe islands...can't think why though
Nice sweaters ...
Couldn't England go back to claiming France - there is an historical precedent. :)
Might be too large a job to put it right after all this time.
Ship all the Calais migrants to the Falklands, it is more 'British' than Britain itself and there is plenty of empty space !
