I think that it's fine to criticise Trump's supporters. If he can criticise Latinos and Mexicans en bloc, then he and his supporters are fair game.

Maybe playing the Hitler card is a bit low, but then again Trump did seem to admire a Mussolini quote.
There are two or three kinds of handwringers when it comes to Trump: those who just hate anything different, those who accept that the right of politics is a legitimate position but can see that President Trump is a proposition to be scared about; and the third kind would be the handwringers on the right, who fear Trump because of the damage he does to the more mainstream Republican cause. But it seems that in some people's philosophy only the first kind exists.
Those who hope Trump wins are either doing so out of some sado-masochistic reasons, or see him -- correctly -- as different without paying enough attention as to how he is different. He is different because he shouts, screams, rages and generally doesn't seem to understand the concept of discussion. He is different because he proposes very little of substance, and even the things he does propose are so utterly implausible that if anyone else said them their career would have been ruined. He is different because he is not even "of the people" in any meaningful sense. He is, after all, a billionaire who hasn't necessarily managed his finances very well anyway (famously it's been shown that he'd have been richer if he'd done nothing all his life and just invested what he started with in a few stocks); and who regards a million dollars, ie more money than some make in a lifetime, as a "small loan". He is different because he hits on his daughter in public, makes jokes about women on periods, insults anyone who dares to ask him questions or point out inconsistencies in his position. He is different because he commands the support of the racist, the communist dictator and the leader of an oppressive regime in Russia.
He is different, in short, for all the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, he is all different because he is Donald Trump. For far too many people, who he is matters far more than what he says or does.

If it were me, I would vote for someone who proved he or she had a deep understanding of socko-economic pressures facing the country. Someone who doesn't simply revel in easy soundbites. Someone with a moral centre. Someone who knows that building a wall to extend across the entire border of Northern America isn't really a practical solution...for anything.

Remember when Churchill was an extremist in the mid 30s? in 1939 they sent for the "extremist" to save them before the Panzers reached their cosy little lives. Trump may bluster but he and others are doing what Churchill tried in the mid 30s, to get us to act before the problem got out of hand. So are the modern day Chamberlainistas going to repeat what hapenned? you bet they will. Once they start stoning women for wearing a short skit in Islington High st it's be too late.
To set To set the record straight, I am not a fan of Trump, as my posts on other threads will attest.
However I am not the blinkered one, I get why millions of Americans will vote for him and why Le Penn et all are also getting more popular.
All three of you can play the race card as much as you like but all you are doing is driving hatred underground and thats when the outlandish becomes popular especially when coupled with 'career' politicians who dont give a jot about their voter.
