If this quote is accurate

///As recently as this month Fury told the Mail on Sunday that there were three things that needed to happen “before the devil comes home”, he continued "One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other is paedophilia. Who would have thought in the 50s and 60s that those first two would be legalised?"///

He said nothing of the kind
Togo

No...he said more.

After the initial claim that gay people were going to bring about the end of the world, he'd to defend himself by conflating gay people with paedophiles by pointing to an article about the Paedophile Information Exchange was once affiliated with the National Council for Civil Liberties (now Liberty) which supports gay rights.

He tweeted: "Hears (sic) how I can put homosexuality along side Paedophilia? Printed by the BBC in 2014."

So - he's absolutely trying to conflate people like me with paedophiles.

Serious question - is this a commonly held view amongst people?

Is that why he has garnered so much support amongst certain people on AB?

Read my last post.

You see what I mean?
Who really gives a monkey's about SPOTY?

It's time the whole thing was withdrawn. It's an anachronism. A complete waste of time and license-payers' fees - and the debate about Tyson Fury makes this all the more obvious.
divebuddy

Errr...did you see what he posted on Twitter?

Is that not conflating gay people with paedophiles? Based on something that happened in the late 70s?

I would like to hear your opinion.

SP, tbh I'm no more interested in your opinion than you are in mine! you have your little flag to wave, I would of course expect you to support a writer for Gaynews, would be remiss of you not to, but if there's a petition to vote him into first place I for one will sign it.
divebuddy

No - what he was doing was conflating gay people with paedophiles and using an incident from 40 years to prove a point.

I don't think that he has proven a link. He DEFINITELY thinks so (see what his Twitter comment says).

Do you agree with him?

Out of curiosity?

I ask, because I find it odd that you cannot see how incredibly offensive being told that you're a kiddy fiddler is.

Imagine if someone walked up to you and told you that you screw kids simply because you are attracted to the same sex.

Do you think that you would shrug and say - fair enough, that's your opinion, or do you think it would be more appropriate to defend yourself?
Baldric

Fill yer boots.

There are thousands like you. I have to acknowledge that. Just happy that there is zero chance of us ever crossing paths in real life.

I'm sure you feel the same.
By the way Baldric - do you now see that he did say something 'of the kind'?

I am assuming you didn't know about the Twitter comments when you castigated me for my poor investigative skills at 20:01?
Togo

Same question to you.

Completely uninterested in Twitter, that includes your C & P.
things said on Twitter don't count, Baldric? That solves a lot of the world's problems.

One other thing

///when you castigated me for my poor investigative skills at 20:01///

Where did I do that then?
Stop feeling so hard done by and imagining slights that don't exsist FGS!

///things said on Twitter don't count, Baldric? ///

I didn't say that either, you're just making it up now 'cause I assume you're bored, looking for a fight, whatever.
Baldric

Sure...that's completely understandable - but Twitter was the forum where he aired these views, and I knew about it because it was reported elsewhere.

So - back to my question...do you think that what he said demonstrates what I was talking about - that he was conflating gay people with paedophiles.

No worries if you don't agree - I'm just curious to what extent your admiration of Tyson Fury goes.
Baldric

Beg your pardon - who was the quote from 20:01 aimed at?
'Im Mr Famous Now', Oh and Jesus loves the world.
