Whats the point of hunting them? They would only claim human rights violations and all the right-on brigade will call the Police Racist.
I didn't know that was how things worked, baz.
I think it is probably not good use of resources because the men will have vanished into the local community by now, so tracing them would be nigh on impossible.

But that's not for the reasons that YMB has offered, which I don't think are entirely serious anyway.
Slightly tongue in cheek but certainly they would claim human rights abuse in their own country so would get Asylum here.
Apologies to anyone called baz who may see this - i meant youngmafbog
I suspect teh police haven't given up with their enquiries- they just realise that using armed marksmen and sniffer dogs is not worthwhile now
Thats what the police are supposed to do.Not that simple for dark skinned Afghans to just slink into the community unless most of the community are dark skinnrd Afghans. These men are armed and dangerous for god's sake. They have discharged a firearm at civilians and should be apprehended and all reasonable force used if necessary if they still have possession of firearms.
Armed, ARMED illegals? Hunt em down and cull them
Now if we are talking about waste of police resources then lets hear it for our police wasting resources in trying to get so called British Muslims to return from Syria which is were they would rather be.

Don't know why those guys bothered to run away across open farmland, if they'd contacted the Authorities they would a been given a Stretch Limo to escape in!

The nearest city is Stoke, which has a large and diverse immigrant community - they will have no problem blending in here.
Yep, thanks to Noo labours welcome all policy.

Would they have been no longed hunted if they had actually killed that man or had committed rape even?
Still blaming New Labour although they've been out of power for over 5 years, and the present Government has seen record levels of immigration - surely some mistake.

Yes but are they mostly 'dark skinned Afghans'?

Blame our membership of the EU, not the Tories.
Great answer, balders. ;o)
Why oh why oh why etc.

A great advert for the dogged determination of the boys in blue to protect us from harm.

Someday soon we'll start checking incoming vehicles properly and putting the ragged, unwashed 'refugees' found therein behind barbed wire till they start to play the game.
In the meantime we could stop renaming them as anything but illegal immigrants in an attempt to show how inclusive/gullible/assinine we are as a country.
AOG - //Yes but are they mostly 'dark skinned Afghans'? //

I couldn't say, I'm not an ethnicity expert, but there is a large and thriving community of non-Brits living in and around the Shelton area of the city.

I don't think anyone here can pin down nationality based on skin tone - or indeed skin colour if it comes to that.
AOG - //Would they have been no longed hunted if they had actually killed that man or had committed rape even? //

Obviously not - but they didn't, so I am unsure of your point here - ?
Yes, they should continue to hunt for them.
