Condolences go without saying. He is the latest in a (short) line of super-fit people who have died suddenly. The one that hit me hardest was a friend of 10 years, ran marathons with no problem. He did a 2 mile jog at lunchtime at work, got back, went into the shower ----- that was it. My heart and thoughts really do go out to the family.
Without wishing to sound mean, it is bad enough that people mourn celebs that they have never met and do not know. Are we now expected to do the same when the children of the celebrities die.
I can understand a bit of empathy toward Nick Cave who is still alive, who lost his son tragically. You feel for the man and his loss, even though you had no idea he had a son until he was killed.
But when the celeb is dead, in the case of Frost, then I do not really feel any grief. It is someone I did not know existed has gone. I do not know his family or friends, so it affects me no more than a news item where people had died in an earthquake of bomb.
We all see people we care about die throught our lifetimes and it is usually not a nice period. So I will not be joining in any faux mourning.

Tend to agree with Gromit over this, I can understand the sadness at the passing of a famous icon film star, Stage Actor etc, that is the end of an era, and we will not again see the like of them again, or of course when the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh pass away.

David Frost was a talented man who produced some good work in his career. Though we did mot know the man, his death was a time to show our appreciation of the programmes we liked and our memories of them.
I cannot do that with Miles. I do not know if he was talented or not. I have no memories of him because I didn't know he existed.

Just worked out why Miles frost has been given so many column inches in the newspapers. He was not a mere mortal, he was aristocracy.
