Gromit, the Koran is remarkably like the bible because Mohammed used the bible as his template for his book which was constructed to rival the other Abrahamic faiths, and many stories from the old and new testaments (and from other ancient Jewish writings) are there, albeit re-jigged somewhat. Mohammed’s wife’s relation was a Hebrew-reading Christian, very well versed in scripture, so an excellent source of information. Of course, Muslims believe that the Jews altered the bible, and not the other way around.
The original rift between the two factions goes back much further than you think – right back to the time of Abraham. Muslims are allegedly descended from his eldest son, Ishmael, born to a servant, Hagar; the Jews from his second son Isaac, born to Abraham’s wife, Sarah. The story continues with the sons of Isaac – Jacob, and Esau who married a daughter of Ishmael and was cheated by his brother out of his birth-right. Anyway the long and the short of it is the Jews are allegedly descended from Isaac/Jacob and the Muslims from Ishmael/Esau – and they are all descended from Abraham. The covenant between God and his chosen people (the Jews) has always been a thorn in the side of Islam and there has always been jealousy and resentment, so actually politics is not the root cause – religion is.
Incidentally, the Koran tells us that Allah turned some Jews and Christians into pigs and apes.

Since the age of about ten I've been unable to understand why people living in the 20th/21st centuries refuse to acknowledge the self evident truth the there is no god/allah/whatever and why people persist in dealing with dissenters to their combined mental illness in a way contrary to the professed central core of that belief.

Could you kindly enlighten me please as to the difference between the Quran and the Koran. Who are the words of these fairy tales attributed to because I am truly confused.We here that the good Allah,in the book of Quran, gave the Jews the land of Israel.The good Allah killed a Pharoah for frightening the Jews.That seems to me to be a rather barbaric over reaction for merely frightening the Jews. A bit like today's barbaric over reaction to a ruddy cartoon by our friends of the ROP. Allah gave the land of Israel to the Jews.Then last year Hamas(ROP) constantly sent rockets over to Israel with the intent to kill Jews. Not very friendly or civilised. Israel responds because they have been PROVOKED by Hamas (ROP). Howls of indignation by the *** on this site because Israel responds by the shed load.So Hamas use women and children of their own so called faith as human shields to set up mortar and rocket sites to further bombard Israel. It would seem that a cartoon is regarded as a provocation and deserves slaughter by the ROP but according to our *** on this site the sending of rockets into Israel by Hamas(FOP) is justified.Seems rather a one sided affair.Tell me please, Gromit, which book, the Quran or the Koran, states that the Burka is a religious requirement to wear and the other says it isn't.If it isn't a religious requirement then I am further entitled to believe the wearer is wearing it to cover his sex and identity to carry out some sinister act in the name of Islam and use it as a disguise.No wonder the French government have banned the burqa though it doesn't seemed to have prevented this atrocity this time. Is it some coincidence that most of the heinous,evil,pernicious atrocities that we hear of almost on a daily basis are perpetrated by followers of Islam throughout the world. Come on Gromit. Give me a clue which book tells us all of the wonders and good the religion of Islam gives us.I only see evil and would be happy to be persuaded otherwise if you could enlighten me.
As a last footnote.It would seem that there are no mass killings between Israel and Hamas at the moment and long may it reign.Do not tug the tiger's tail and you won't be bitten. I suspect that the French government and the ultra right wing factions there will conduct a rather robust response to this slaughter.Rather than mealy mouthed offers of help to France by Cameron and Merkel I hope they jack up a more robust security review on our home grown terrorists as well.A British counter terrorist stated that the terrorists spoke fluent French and were well trained.They shot accurately on the move which is difficult and conserved ammunition by using effective double taps.He concluded that they were more than likely home grown French terrorists who had returned from a terrorist training camp where they honed their skills.As I said yesterday on another link.Today's trainee Muslim teacher at university in this country is potentially tomorrows terrorist.

And it's hard to not pull a tigers tail when that tiger has thrown you out of your home, built a large wall around it so you cannot get in and have to beg to be let in even to work, then released thousands of other flying tigers to bomb you, then stopped medical supplies, food and water entering your new "cage" , then killed 65 members of your family as well as bulldozed your new home for pulling on his tail over the original reason you pulled it with even other tigers saying that that tigers are not the original owners and should leave and give the land back to the palastinians Or do I have it wrong?

About time the western world woke up and smelt the coffee where islam is concerned, they do not want democracy and should not be allowed to immigrate to democratic countries, it is a prelude to disaster, strong words need strong measures. We have almost given over our country to this religion, their own parliament ( secret of course) their own courts (secret of course) etc, etc, etc.there is no difference in any muslim (whether terrorist or not) they all hold the same foundamental beliefs - islamic global domination.

I rather suspected that really. It is just the fact that some would like to defend the religion of Islam by quoting drivel from the Quran in order to refute the quotes from the Koran. I wasn't really confused.Just making a point about a dangerous untrustworthy pernicious religion which is highly suspect and seems to be very contradictary.

It was suggested by someone more expert on counter terrorism affairs than you and I that they were home grown,French speaking Muslims who attended terrorists camps run by Al Queda or whoever and returned to the country which had adopted them and practised their terrorist skills and was further stated that it could happen here in the Uk. No they will not have been trained by the Grenadier Guards either!!

Quran and Koran are the same thing, the difference in spelling depends on which route it is translated from, like Taliban and Taleban.
There is nothing in the Quran about women being obliged to wear a burka (or burqa). The wearing of the Burma is purely tradition pal to a very small region of the Islamic world. Of the worlds 2billion Muslims, less than 1% wear burkas.

A double tap is the firing of two bullets in quick succession in order to ensure that the recipient does not live to see another day.One bullet will possibly cause a superficiary injury whereby a second bullet,especially in the high mass body area will settle the issue.
We can go on to describe the "Mozambique" method of despatching someone. That is two bullets in the central body mass area and one bullet in the forehead.I wasn't trained to be a trained assassin by the way. I was trained to take out the bad guys and thankfully never put my err skills to practise but would not of hesitated should I have been called upon to do so.
