Oscar Pistorius sentencing: Blade Runner is 'a broken man who has lost everything'. Excuse me???? He has his life, his health, his wealth, his fame, his family, etc etc. The woman he shot is the one who lost everything, and her loved ones lost her. Anyone seriously see Pistorius as the victim here?

Today and the start tomorrow are for the defence to show he should escape jail and then the Prosecution will call for real punishment.
If he is released then I expect he'll go out and get legless ...

Do you seriously expect anyone to say 'yes'?
Even Eastenders can't keep a storyline going this long
Funny how you can take drugs and get banned from Athletics and on the other hand shoot someone fatally and hope to get back on the track in the near future.....
It's like with all really high profile trials. I was convinced OJ was guilty - one big point being that leather glove not fitting his hand...whilst he was wearing a rubber glove doh of course it won't fit. I'm convinced he's guilty, but probably just because of the way the trial is publicised. I'm hoping there was so much that wasn't publicised that, if we had heard it, would swing favour his way. Otherwise, I'm back to being a total pessimist regarding justice for the rich and the poor being an uneven gamble.
To me it looks like this judge is like a rabbit caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.I fear her judgement will be affected by all this.
The judge is not alone: she does have 2 assessors to guide her.
Yes but I believe the decision is hers alone.
Does a 'broken' man go out nightclubbing whilst on bail and get into an altercation?

Although I entirely agree with the point that Pistorious has lost nothing compared to his vicitm and her family, the defence has to put something forward. The alternative would be to agree that he is guilty as charged, and should be torn to pieces by wild animals.

The legal system depends on the production of evidence, for and against, and that includes any and all efforts to back up the evidence, however unreal such efforts may appear.

We shall see if the sentence fits the crime in due course.
As I have said previously this whole trial is surrounded by "celebrity" and I fear the Judge's sentence will be affected thus.
I really, really hope he gets a jail sentence.
He is not 'Guilty as charged' he's guilty as decided by the judge, of manslaughter. He will not 'get away' with anything as whatever sentence is doled out it will be one that is lawful in South Africa for the crime he committed. Of course Pistorius is not a victim, who is suggesting this other than the OP?
Retrochic, you asked "who is suggesting this other than the OP?"

The answer is Oscar Pistorius's psychiatrist said that and more on Monday during the sentencing hearing which is taking place this week.
We knew though, right from the start, that OP would be portrayed as the victim in all this. I doubt very much if he'll get a custodial sentence.
aaah poor little thing (he is without his prosthetics) he has worked so hard on his acting and there are still some of us who don't think his side of the story adds up.
// Does a 'broken' man go out nightclubbing whilst on bail and get into an altercation? //

P was arguing with Jared M who had appeared for the other side ( had given damaging evidence )
Obviously it looked like a set up to me. P's 'jockey' should have been draggin him away ( perhaps they were ) as this would be enough to revoke bail

[ as I keep telling one of my bailed neighbours ]
