What a surprise!
Wasn't it Ernest Saunders who was spared the full weight of the laws displeasure because he had Alzheimers and given an early release. He went on to make a remarkable, almost miraculous, recovery.

I'm not sure this is the most appropriate thread for jokey remarks about male rape.
Zuehl...you are right and I withdraw the remark with immediate effect.
it was indeed, sandy, an example to (wealthy) defendants throughout the land.

"He actually is ill. I believe he has prostate cancer"
and what has that got to do with anything?

That could be taken in to account for sentencing, bernie
An earlier post suggested, perhaps ironically, that he might be too ill for a prison sentence. I was simply saying that he is ill.
not having a go at you sandy at all,but if he is ill so what!
that has nothing to do with the case!
But it could be a factor in the Judge's sentencing
It could have a lot to do with any sentence he gets. His defence might argue that he couldn't receive the treatment he needed if given a custodial sentence.
probably not in a cell tonight as he has something on the judge ( and that wouldn't surprise me either )
what a world we live in, he is found guilty of 8 sex charges and because he may have prostrate cancer he may get a lesser sentence, bet that cheers up his victims!
I think judges are obliged to grant bail unless there's a very good reason not to. Ever watch Crimewatch and notice how many criminals abscond after being found guilty but before they've been sentenced?

If it is true it would be a huge bombshell !
they're saying he faces "up to two years" in jail, which seems quite mild after years of predation.
> probably not in a cell tonight as he has something on the judge ( and that wouldn't surprise me either )

It would me, given he was found guilty ...
Alleged historical crimes judged by today’s standards sits uncomfortably with me.
