Must be some cheering in the CPS camp today. At last they have managed to make one historical sexual abuse charge stick...well 8 actually !

If you don't at first succeed, try, try and try again.
If his youngest victim was 15 then the correct term would be ephebophile or hebephile depending on the stage of puberty of the girl.
So what do you think about the verdict mikey ? - if i am correct you've not been keen on these historical charges being brought before the courts
I haven't really followed the trial in the media apart from the odd snippet. I do remember there was a bit of a deal made about his abnormally small manhood, being quite a childish person at times this made me snigger :)
clearly not a majority verdict? Yes it was.
oops oh dear
well that means there will be more on the way

asking what people did or didnt do thrity y ago striked me as being terribly dodgy as the war crimes trials adequately show
I respect the verdict of the Jury Bazile. But I am still uneasy about bringing forth charges, in events that occurred such a long time ago. If a Policeman asked me what I was doing on the afternoon of the 22nd September 1978, or the morning 3rd March 1981, I wouldn't have a clue.

But if the CPS can show that they have a strong enough case, than they must proceed of course. Its just that the CPS haven't much of a success rate up until now.

What a pity the authorities were not so keen to prosecute that ghastly obese monster in Rochdale. If they had, there would be a lot of men now, boys years ago, that could have been saved the awful ordeal that befell them.
Golly Mikey dja think Kincora will get an outing ?

abuse at Kincora boys home covered up as the abuser was a terrorist and was black-mailable as a result....
I hope so PP. There is an on-going investigation into child abuse in children's home in Wales at the moment. In fact there are many such investigations going on all over Britain, including the most recent one involving a recently deceased ex-Teacher that is alleged to have drugged young boys, before raping them.

But we still have to be careful that any charges are carefully considered before court proceedings go ahead. Everybody has the right to a fair trial, and the process we know have, where the accused is paraded through the Media, sometimes for months on end, before action is taken cannot be the best way to ensure that a fair trial is arrived at.

On a side issue, it seems to have gone very quite in South Africa, over the Pistorius trial...does any one know what is happening ?
Kincora involved 'security matters it won't be resurrected.
Now we wait for the appeal.

The Pistorius Trial was adjourned for two weeks over Easter, I believe.
Thanks chrissa.

Not sure why Clifford isn't in a cell this afternoon. These were very serious charges. Is there anybody on here, like New Judge that can tell us why he is still free ?
He is obviously thought, not to be a threat to the general public. The judge is dithering about what sentence to give him.
This convicted rapist was bailed awaiting sentencing, too, so it's not because Clifford is famous

If he was in prison now it would be taken off his sentence, anyway, mikey.
I doubt he'll serve any prison time at the moment. I have no doubt he'll be given bail, pending appeal.
By then he may well be too ill for a prison sentence if you know what I mean .
There always seem to be some way to get out of it if you have money.
He actually is ill. I believe he has prostate cancer.
