The Labour party did what necessary to correct the excesses created by Thatcher when she removed all restrictions and credit and borrowing. If they hadn't have done that, the situation would have been catastrophic. Jobs and bank accounts would have disappeared in their millions. Gordon Brown recieved high praise from the leaders of other countries for...

No, it's an overstatement but on the other hand he's hardly going to say he's not one of the better chancellors is he.
I'm hoping he's right about the "Osborne will go down" bit :-)

Well factor, it would not be the first time Smith told a lie, just to try and enhance the party would it.

wot as in Bill Clinton stylee?
Yes, politicians of other parties never overstate what a good job they are doing or how good a job they will do if elected
"Osborne. One of the Greatest Chancellors ever?"
WHAT? Should have gone to Specsavers!

If he had said "the greatest Chancellor ever seen"

Your abusive criticism might have gone a little way towards making some form of sense.

Ian Duncan Smith ? I can't quite recall who he is ? No, wait...it will come back to em I'm sure !

Ah yes, I remember. Wasn't he the useless former leader of the Tories, that had to resign after he lost a vote of no confidence in 2003 ? The same one that exaggerated his academic qualifications ?

I would take a wheelbarrow of salt with anything this chap said.
He is doing a very tough job trying to get the UK on its feet again, we cannot carry on spending like the last party did.
Like the last party did, and like Osborne at the time supported... fine economic nous there!
It never ceases to amaze me that supporters of Labour cannot/will not grasp the fact that when Labour are in power, without fail, they bring the Country to the brink of Financial Ruin, which the Tories have to try and put right during their next term in office whilst being castigated by the deluded Labour voters for the state of the Nation. The deluded will then out of habit put Labour back in power at the next Election and start the whole sorry cycle all over again!

Mikey4444 , You remember mikey , The man called Smith who wasted Thirty four million on a new computer system ,for something he called Universal credit, whatever that means, but it never worked, Thats the Mr Smith I Mean Mikey, now do you remember?.
"Wasn't he the useless former leader of the Tories, that had to resign after he lost a vote of no confidence in 2003 ? The same one that exaggerated his academic qualifications ? "

He's also the same one who more recently had his workfare schemes deemed illegal, and then rushed through a disgraceful law which prevented the DWP from having to compensate the people it had been illegally shafting all this time.

And to all those who whinge about Labour supporters - I agree, Labour are extremely undesirable. However, I'm getting really sick of being treated like some kind of fanatical Labour supporter purely because I find the disgusting mentality, persistent incompetence and spite of the present government absolutely repulsive.
Baldric, those of us with longer memories than you will recall Reginald Maudling, the Tory chancellor, leaving his Labour successor Callaghan a note apologising for leaving the country in such a mess.
well he cant be any worse than gordon brown and osborn didnt kill of the workers pensions and i am a labour supporter

Was referring to Labours history on finances not sarcasm jno!
Farriercm // Asolutely correct in your terminology '' The Con Party.''
No, he's just the font man, same as all chancellors, how much actual input to a budget do you imagine any chancellor through history actually has? Why do you think that none of them ever do anything radical? It's the safe backroom boys that do it all.
I don't quite follow, Baldric - Maudling was admitting the Tories had got the country in a financial mess and Labour would have to try to get it out... at the last change of government, Labour left the coalition a similar note. These things aren't as party-specific as is sometimes supposed.
