are they homophobic or rather playing up to a gay sterotype's??

personally i'm seeing gay stereotyping rather than gay bashing
I can't see any homophobia here, just comments ridiculing the ridiculous.
when i was in North Africa some years ago, men and boys held hands and kissed quite openly, and not a women or hardly ever seen about the place. A British friend who worked all over the Middle East years ago, said that his experience of the peoples across the many countries he worked in was that men were for pleasure, women were for procreation.........
It's easy. You offer everyone a copy of Playboy or Playgirl and watch what their pupils do.
Well now, just supposing they claim to have a test, and some innocent heterosexual traveller with comprehensive insurance is turned away because he's failed their test, should his insurance pay up?

(I realise that would mean it was a bum test, but let's not go into that ...)
These are backward people, in backward countries. My advice for any gay person is to avoid places like these if at all possible.

I'm not sure why anybody goes to these backward, totalitarian countries on holiday anyway.... uncomfortably hot, arid and backward to boot. There are plenty of other destinations to choose from.

Tough for people that have no choice, or have top go for business reasons though.
one should be able to travel anywhere without the fear of being locked up for the so called heinous crime of having a male partner, absurd beyond belief, going on for 2014, what is wrong with these people
could we at least send them Alan Carr, and then Graham Norton....
.. and Michael Barrymore...
Hands up who thinks Simon Cowell would fail the test.............
and david Walliams, his campy ways gets on my proverbials.
Can we keep Julian Clary, coz I think he very funny, especially on Just a Minute ?
ok, as long as Walliams goes, then simon cowell, he is awful, don't care if he is gay or not, gone gone gone.
the only one i have some time for is Paul O'grady, but in very small doses....
There goes JTH's chances of wearing the Burqa in Kuwait then.........
who could tell, you can't always see their faces, so could be anyone.
This story is surely a wind-up.
Whatever happened to the "liquid bombs in silicon implants" scare that was briefly mentioned a couple of months ago btw?
AOG, you quoted from my post and asked sp why sp didn't complain about these 'homophobic comments' Was that intentional ? Well, sp hasn't and wouldn't because mine aren't. Your perception of homophobia is like your perception of racism. You see it when non-homophobic and non-racist statements are made and then post about it. Mine in this instance was mocking what straight people thought years ago.

Ask your gay friends be they judges, clergy, generals (I have encountered all of those; they don't fit the gay stereotype) and others and see what they think.
Mikey4444 //These are backward people in backward countries// That`s rather a sweeping statement. It wasn`t so long ago that homosexuality was illegal in this country. Maybe I`ll go around to my Mum`s house and tell her that in her younger days, she was a backward person in a backward country - I`m sure she`ll be delighted!
