It would seem there is even a confusion if the Dutchess of Cambridge is even a Princess.

OMG, this is an outrage. Why aren't the BBC providing live coverage?
I think princess is a job and a title but duchess is just a title
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet!
I really couldn't care a bug*er either way ! Drain on the public purse would seem to be more accurate.

Also this article:

Which suggests that the £33million in tax costs is more than outweighed by assets and tourism. Running into billions. Drain on the public purse? Nonsense.
It does appear that protocl dictates that the Duchess is not, as yet, a princess because marrying a prince does not automatically confer that title - as is shown by Camilla.

The more relaxed approach combined with a desire to be seen as forward-looking means that the palace is not getting its knickers in a twist in the way it would have done years ago.
Diana was not Princess Diana she was Diana Princess of Wales - Kate will inherit this title in the future.
I thought Camilla was entitled to use "princess" but decided not to? Princess Anne made a deliberate decision not to give her children titles. I'm sure, historically, any woman marrying a prince has become a princess. I wasn't aware it had changed.
O God I thought Aog had said that

Prince William had invaded Lichtenstein or something,
and was that an occupation ?

rather than a liberation or pacification
