Actually managed to miss all of the Glastonbury coverage this weekend. Lot of hype prior to the festival about the Stones, then all the talk about the extend of the TV coverage - were they any good?
Are young people just being kind to acts such as the Stones they perceive as 'Icons'? The Stones were incredibly bad, MJ prancing around like some inebriated Granddad at a wedding, RW wasn't even playing his guitar half the time and that drummer.... lol! Sometimes its better to leave at the top of your game -for the Stones that was about 30 years ago.
Hear hear themorrigan, I've been saying that for years!
The Stones couldn't be touched back in the 60's (well, apart from that itty bitty group called The Beatles, or something), but frankly, that's where they belong.
I much prefer to remember The Stones as they were, young rebels who strutted their stuff with credibility. Now they're an embarrassment living on their past glory.
I don't think they are an embarrassment at all, they still have a tremendous fan base and sell out concerts, I was just disappointed with what we saw of their performance ,
