sir.prize, because it's news. go figure!
Sara, I judge a person (whether I like them or not ) after I have met them and socialised with them. When I was a teenager, although being gay was not in the news we accepted them as they are, a person, the same as us - and I still do. I agreed with civiil partnerships (co-habiting couples as well - as at the moment there are no laws of equality covering living together couples) - but not marriage - and that is just a matter of opinion.
but why?
Gay marriage will not change the amount of impulsive and bad marriages there are out there already, I dont see the issue.
The problem with the older generation is they are stuck in the past, when homosexuality and gay sex was illegal and of course frowned upon by most, the law has now accepted that homosexuality is quite natural and laws have been changed to reflect this. Come on guys this is 2013, Wake up!
You are beginning to sound like the spanish inquision sara - why not?
Deary, deary me.......it's funny how people upon whom the entire issue will have absolutely no impact whatsoever, are very vocal in their opposition.........and yet are unable to say why they are against it other than 'they don't like it'.
I am also against the death penalty JTH, and that has no impact on me whatsoever.
As it your right, Brenden.
But I imagine your opinion on the death penalty consists of more than '........because I don't like the idea'.
That JTH is your opinion which you have every right to hold.
because, Brenden... it doesn't make a jot of difference to my life if 2 gay people chose to marry!

good for them, be happy, congrats... it's all good, and it's none of my business!
My dad was scared of gays until he found out that my cousins were gay. He changed his mind then.

With older men i think it comes down to 'well if their gay, does it mean I could be gay?'

They are afraid of their own sexuality!
Helen....absolutely correct....right on the ball........I have often wondered if i am gay.........
No... you're too ugly.

friedgreentomato, you may be right their, I also tend to think that the ones that shout the loudest are often covering some little incident in their past maybe.
