Gromit, I can only presume that you were also able to shrug off the beheading of Ken Bigley and all the other innocent hostages who have suffered the same horrendous fate at the hands of fanatical religious madmen. War is war, and war brings casualties on all sides. This was not war. It was cold blooded murder carried out in the most horrific and barbaric way...

Until the government gets some guts this sort of thing is going to become common!
People will only take so-much Naomi.
/how much more are we going to tolerate? /

since when are we 'tolerating' killings like this?

I think you'll find twr that these two nutters weren't tolerated at all - they were shot

Jake, your post at 19.21 wasn't there when I posted at 19.22. However, earlier today, I spotted your sarcastic link to a picture of the police on duty, so, you're right - your arguments are most definitely getting predicable.
Shame you never learned any manners, chris.
I've seen a video posted on the Huffington Post after the attack. I'm actually shaken. The body of this poor young man is in the middle distance, and the
Jim360 - Excuse me? Could you explain please.??????????
Don't know what happened to the rest of my post...but anyway...

...and the (insert expletive beginning with the letter 'c') is in the foreground 'justifying' his attack to camera.

This is literally the worst thing I've seen in a long time, and I was in Soho the day the nail bomb went off.

I hope the police didn't kill them. I hope they both received extremely painful injuries, but will be fit enough to stand trial.

I cannot even begin to imagine the horror that this lad's poor family are going to go through.

This pair have succeeded in doing one thing alone - in uniting people against this form of barbarism and setting back relations between Muslims and non-Muslims an awful long way.
//This pair have succeeded in doing one thing alone - in uniting people against this form of barbarism and setting back relations between Muslims and non-Muslims an awful long way.//

Indeed they have.
TWR back of the EDL Griffin talk - 99%+ of Muslims are actually decent people and will abhor this. It's the identification of the 0.something% that is crucial and somehow they have slipped through the net. It is similar to the Irish situation twenty/thirty and more years ago.........

That doesn't mean to say we don't have tighter frontier controls but we have always been a nation that has accepted immigration - back to the Romans and beyond......by the way - which nation (or ethnic/religious group) has the highest criminal rate in England other than Brits? The answer is a little surprising.
"back off"
// Until the government gets some guts this sort of thing is going to become common! //

What do you want the government to do?
the EDL will march.

Islam needs to march too. they're quite happy to take a stand against british military presence in Afgan. Lets see some 'not in my name' action!
I suspect, Chrissa, part of the "Pack Muslims in a container and ship them home" brigade.
What is it that terrorists don't get? When you sort to the gun, the bomb or whatever, it simply doesn't give you the results you want.

I lived through the IRA bombs in London during the 70s and 80s and they achieved bugger all.

7/7 achieved bugger all.

This is the same.

But somehow...and I'm not sure why - this seems worse. Perhaps it's the immediacy of it. The fact that it was one targeted person? I don't know. Perhaps someone can help me on this...it just seems more horrific...
Ah, I see DTC.
What do you want the government to do?
------------------------
Maybe actually grow a pair and start preventing all and sundry coming here under false pretences?
One of the attackers is ranting about how "women have to see this sort of thing back in our land".
It'll be interesting to find out where 'our land' actually is.
It's because of what they did to him with the machete, sp......and that it seems he was a soldier off duty, not expecting to be hacked down in the middle of his capital city.
it's more gorrific because it is face to face combat (despite the fact the young man was unarmed and not actually setting out to fight) but if the terrorists are going to use this tactic from now on it means noone is safe. that's the alarmist and terrorising truth of it
