Rather than say anything about her time as PM I prefer to say something about her as a local MP... Every christmas she hosted a party for local old people and even my almost communist mother in law said she was lovely... and would not be bothered by other issues during the time she spent there. I also know people who worked at the houses of parliament who found her...

we don't need reminding, I've had a much needed lie in because I have to work full time even though my original plan when i got married in 1978 was to be home to raise my kids and then perhaps take a little part time job just to provide some money for me to spend as i wanted. she brought in defence cuts in january 1982 and would not let my husband sign for his 22, after 12 years working on Vulcan bombers. He left the RAF and it was a struggle from then on, nice that she authorised his return 3 months later when the Vulcan was needed down on ascension, he obviously told her where to go,
Glad I got the lie in, I need it as I will now have to work until I an 67, moved the goal posts did't they? (as in my previosu thread on the subject, which has been ignored in the ed's collection in the OP, no excuse etc etc that anyone can provide will change my feelings on the subject)
Ok, look, I think you've taken my comments the wrong way. I should have just left your username out of it, as it was not a personal dig at yourself.
I just don't like it when "some" people ask that question. Sorry if I annoyed you in any way - definitely not my intention.
Maggie told you that you had to work until you were 67, dot?

Why didn't you let the rest of us in on it, at the time.........?
MadMen :-)
why are they not taking her to mortlake before the do? that's not normal, the do is always after the burial/cremation.

jack i didn;t say that.
my point was, if i hadn't had to work full time i would not be bothered that i had to work until i was 67.
p.s. ed i've reported your thread because it is asking the wrong question in the wrong way, you're aksing what would we say at the funeral but you wouldn;t like it if i told you and so you're censoring out contribution from the get go
the do is a part of the public ceremonies. The cremation and interment are private so will happen after the public stuff.
how very unusual. park her up in a layby whilst the family party on
DJhawkes 13:22 Well said !!!
He's actually asking what *nice* things you'd say........and as you don't seem to have any, it'd probably be best to keep schtum......
What would you say, given the chance to speak at the Funeral?

is there an imaginary 'nice' in there then?
i forgot this site is not a democracy it's a dictatorship as has been proven many times in the pas
It's implicit in the word 'Eulogy'......
has anyone ever said that it is anything else?.....very very few net fora are democracies.
Dotty...you don't have to join in !!
what would i say ? will my reply be removed if im honest ?
it doesn;t read that way personally I didn;t care enough to get out of bed let alone try to pretend to be bothered
He says "What would you say, given the chance to speak at her Funeral?" Does it have to be something nice then ??????
i've posted on this thread because i was invited to by the OP.
