ISLAMOPHOBIC????????????????

Seems they have now invented a word that can be used instead of racist, if one dares to criticise the Muslim religion.

MUSLIMOPHOBIC I've just invented another.

CATHOLICOPHOBIC and another

PROTESTANTOPHOBIC yet another

ATHEISTOPHOBIC That just about covers it.

/// for a counsellor, trusted to have a sense of judgement, and propriety and generally be above childish behaviour, at least where it can be seen - this was a stupid and thoughtless thing to do.///

/// If trhis buffoon thinks people are unhappy because they have no sense of humour, he is a bigger idot than he first appears. ///

I would rather have a councillor who posses a sense of humour, at least I would know that he is a human being first and a councillor second, not the other way round.

I think your accusations of his 'CHILDISH BEHAVIOUR' and the use of the words 'BUFFOON, and 'IDIOT'' are uncalled for and sets yourself up as a person who lacks a little humour yourself.

Sorry Andy, criticise what he did if you must, but I think those insults were totally uncalled for.
If he hasn't got the stomach for the duller parts of politics shouldn't he get back to his kebab shop where he'd feel more at home?
Islamophobia's not a new word, it's been around for years.
... and PS yes, the photo is really funny - but for a person in a public position to say what he did was just plain stupid. Public office does bring some responsibility for watching what you say.
Sandy, are you Greek/cypriotophobic or was that just blokeish banter? :-)

Perhaps this humorous Councillor has some funny stories about Old People always smelling of wee or looking like they're in the early stages of dementia.

It would be interesting to see which ABers find them funny or not
Any idiot can become a Councillor.
In my experience it is a job targeted by people who

A, don't like real work.
B, Like to think they are far more important than they actually are.

What did this particular idiot think he would achieve by posting this on FB?

/// There's a French deputy in trouble for playing Scrabble during a long and tedious debate on gay marriage in the French chamber. ///

Couldn't think of a better way to spend one's time, while such an unimportant debate is going on.

But then our Premier went one better, he didn't even bother attending in the first place.
Not funny and he is in a position of trust so should have known better.
DoctorB, I was trying to show in my cack-handed way that people in glass houses...
I know sandy, hence the smile.

I've asked you this before, and didn't get an answer - why do you feel that marriage equality is unimportant?

Are you saying it is unimportant to you, because you don't have gay relatives, or are you saying that it in itself is not important generally?
i take your point AOG, but my epithets were used purely in the conext of debate on this site - were i to take issue with the individual, I would not use such terms, or anything like them.

If this man sets himself up be exhibiting his 'humour' through one cyber medium, he must expect the reactions of others through similar media.
/But then our Premier went one better, he didn't even bother attending in the first place. /

He didn't need to
He already knew that the majority of The House and the majority of the country agreed with him

I wonder why so many Tory MPs and Councillors are so out of touch?
sandy, a jibe at the man's ethnicity, well i never.
-- answer removed --
does any politician get training for the job, i wouldn't think so.
em the A List candidates of the Conservative Party get training. Is it in how to conduct constituency surgeries? Procedure in Parliament? Anything practical?

No. It's all in voice training and sounding right on TV. Is anyone surprised?
surely they all are in the same boat, most don't seem to have held down a job before going into full time politics, if they had they might have some grounding in how to deal with people, difficult situations, colleagues and indeed being tactful when needed and not posting your true feelings on farcebook.
AOG - further to my last post -

"I would rather have a councillor who posses a sense of humour, at least I would know that he is a human being first and a councillor second, not the other way round."

That is where we differ - a sense of humur is not a prerequisite in a counsellor - unless he wants to do styand-up in the pub of an evening.

However, a sense of judgement and ability to accept that a position of rresponsibility requires a degree of understanding of consequences - they are essential - and this person shows he has neither.
