Apart from a short mention on LBC radio, I have not heard of any reports on this sad event, on any TV news channels that I have been watching.

Has anyone else missed news of this tragic happening?

First I've heard of it.
Unfortunately, in these days of who has been knocked out of X Factor and what Posh Spice is wearing, real news is hardly covered.
I missed it as well, too much US election coverage. What a tragedy and what a waste.
Very sad aog...............she was by all accounts a very fit triathlete.
No I saw it a paper, just out of interest though - why does it need plastering all oveer the TV news channels?
It was on the front page on the BBC website UK section yesterday, now in the London section; in the Independent this morning as well
It was very prominent in the online Daily Mail.

Thank you hc4361, but didn't I also supply that link?
I heard it on BBC Radio 4 news this morning, but I haven't really looked much at the news today. Very sad.

Mmmmm? isn't that what the 'TV NEWS' channels are for, to report on news?

Are you saying that this isn't news, or even worthy of reporting?
it was on the BBC website yesterday

It's sad, but not in the same category as someone actually killed by a thief, for instance. An otherwise fit woman who collapsed while running would not normally make the national news.

You are trying to twist and get a rise out of me you naughty man AOG.

I agree that it is sad, I disagree that it needs to be published all over the news.
"I disagree that it needs to be published all over the news. "

And I disagree with that. Any of the emergency services who risk their lives daily to keep us safe should get a full mention on the news in such a tragedy, so we can see what heroes we have.

Yes but that is the whole point it was not just a otherwise fit woman who collapsed and died running.

It was a serving police officer who in the course of her duties was chasing a thief, and then unfortunately collapsed and died.
I think it should be mentioned, not necessarily front page news. but certainly more than a paragraph tucked inside.
An aside, the suicide of the policeman in Glasgow was on the front page of the Daily Record.
I agree with jno. While it is sad, people collapse and die every day. That is not news, just life.

Would I ever?

What I was just addressing was exactly what you said,

/// why does it need plastering all oveer the TV news channels? ///

with not a twist in sight.
It was more this comment my little petal!!
