wolf......our cats cause more worry and heartache than the kids ever did....
I really feal for the parents but in God's name its dark at 7 and she was outside playing!!! She should have been home in bed , she is far too young to be out on her own. I just hope and pray that they get her back save and sound.
I have to agree with those who said she shouldn't have been outside at 7pm in the dark without adult supervision.... that said, I hope she is found quickly and returned to her family unharmed.
It is easy to judge, but my girl who is nearly 7 asked me about it this morning as she saw it on the news and I told her what had happened and said that is why you must never go far from the house and don't go with strangers and make sure none of your friends do either.

She seemed a bit shocked when i said the little girl might not come back.

Of course I am wishing for a happy ending too cant imagine what parents are going through.
hello belrec.

unfortunately it does take something like last nights' incident to act as a deterrant ... your little princess will, i believe, be very sensible when she is out.
Thank you excel she is mostly :-)
I watched Sky news this morning but nothing was made clear.
Who was she with exactly?
why did they let her get in the van?

I thought skys coverage was abysmal, asking the most irrelevant questions and even asking Eamonn Holmes if he could speak Welsh in a light heart jocular manner.
Even princesses misbehave - ask Diana or Kate....

I agree with the sentiments expressed, ours would have been in bed at that age on a school night, maybe not asleep but on their way. I used to be work in mountain rescue and then an outfit called Equus in the Southern States, geared at mobilising large numbers of folk to look for missing kids or folk with dementia etc, based off a local church in the vicinity and working closely with the Police; the last one that I was involved, as a team leader, with was a 16 year old who was murdered by someone in her school just "mucking around with a gun".....the Police found her just before we did as we were heading over with 150 folk to search the area where she was found.....

Perhaps there's a need in this country for such an organisation. The money raised went to some rescue equipment but especially things like model aircraft equipped with infra-red sensors that allowed us to cover vast tracts of open land quickly, sending folk into hot spots.
Gawd - my English is collapsing....sorry
Have to say it, you are wrong and blaming the wrong people.

It was not dark at 7pm on Monday. Sunst was 6.50 and Lighting up time was at 7pm which is when they went to get her in. But it was not dark, as it will not be at 7pm tonight.

There is only one person to blame here Gromit and that is the sick **** that took her, I don't know where you live but by 7.30 at night it is pretty dark here in Essex let alone further up the country.
And I stand by what I say, my kids would have been in bed at 7 when aged five and on a school night no matter how light/dark it was. Others do it differently I know.

At 7pm (not 7.30) it will be fairly light I'd have thought in West Wales, certainly lighter than in Essex.
Just as a point of info :-)
It is still light at 7pm but the report at present says she disappeared at 7.30pm when it is now dark.
A child of five needs 11 hours sleep per night. Assuming she goes to the village school at 9am she would need to get up at about 8am. Therefore she could go to bed at 9pm and still have the right amount of sleep and get to school.

Sending children to bed very early is probably more for the patents' convenience. Letting children play out while it is light is good parenting not bad.

Oh thats okay then!
The link supllied, the BBC and the Telegraph all have the time of the suspected abduction as 7pm.

Who is reporting it as 7.30pm? People saying it was 7.30, please supply a link.
Question Author
It was reported in the Mail and by the BBC that it was 7.30pm, both sites have since been updated.
There does seem to be some confusion over whether it was 7 or 7.30.

Now they're saying "around" 7, so not really sure by the sounds of it.

The missing poster says 7.30 Gromit....see no one was lying to you.
Light/dusk/dark - 7pm or 7.30 pm - should it matter?? A child is missing. Children have been abducted from their own homes and gardens, these details are irrelevant, I pray for a good outcome.
