Well sunita from corrie lights my flame
There werre some bits I didn't like, but on the whole I tnought it was magnificent. the best of Brotish without a doubt.

10/10
I think it was great if you are British but if you`re not then you won`t get it.
Gromit we agree!!!! Well said
Agreed from me too Gromit!
Perhaps those that dont get it should trawl the net or even a library and learn about why Britain is Great.
One disappointment for me was the previous Olympians (who passed the torches on to the newcomers) like Daley Thompson and Mary Peters, we never got to see them properly did we?
Thanks TheNovice, and here it is again in English...

PS.... Wow!!!! - only the British can do extravagansa like this! A triumph!
That was one great show as I said on another thread rest of the world watch and weep, one part I did not get after it finished Hazel Irvine said she thought it was funny, did not get that.
I`m not British and I loved it.
Agree with Gromit. It was different, British and magnificent. Only one thing let it down and that was McCartney at the end. He should have been put out to pasture years ago, his performance was terrible and very embarrassing.
In a nut shell lottie in a nut shell
Magicmick. The Mr Bean Chariots of Fire was funny. And I hate Mr Bean.
My mate in Sydney`s texted me and was wondering what the big grass hill was, who were the men in top hats and what the chimneys were all about. I think the reports that people on foreign shores found the ceremony a little bit baffling might be correct.
^ As per Gromit. It was so funny and I hate Mr Bean too!!
Just so LL. Others have been spectacular but could have represented any nation. This was so British and quirky..........that is why I loved it.
I'm not making excuses for Paul McCartney Lottie but half of it was down to the faulty sound system I think. As I've said on another thread, there was a timing issue too, he was way behind the backing track but he covered it up well. His voice is not what it was!
Bloody chain rattlers.
Ann86. I don't actually think he had a voice. I have never liked him or understood why everybody seems to think he is so wonderful.
I do tend to agree a little Lottie, as I said on a different thread he was ok singing in the Beatles but as solo he is too weak. John and George had much better voices.
