Northern Thunder (remember them?) ... are clearly annoyed that Netball is not an Olympic sport.

As are we all !!!!!

Let's face it ... look at some of the "sports" that will be in the Olympics this year ...

... beach volleyball

... BMX biking

... mountain biking

... football

... "artistic" gymnastics

... synchronised swimming

... water polo

And they don't have Netball in the Games? Purleeeeeze!!

What sports should be in the Olympics?

And what should come OUT to make room for them ?

Me first.

Quite clearly ... Football OUT, Netball IN

Yep, I agree with you JJ
I'd certainly agree that Netball should be an Olympic sport. I'd do away with anything that requires 'marks for artistic impression'. If you're allowing Basketball, then football has to stay.. There are so many anomalies - if Handball is OK, why not Squash? Why no rugby these days, or cricket?

And, until they have running backwards and walking on your hands in the athletics, all swimming should be freestyle only.
I agree with netball, also should include the three legged race, like at school gives the non sporty types the chance to take part.

I don't think any sport should be included unless an Olympic medal is significant.

For a Tennis player, an Olympic medal ranks WAY below winning a Grand Slam.

And for a footballer, way below a World Cup or European thingy league medal.

So they should be excluded.
Running the 100 metres carrying 2 bags of shopping.

Running for a bus and the loser gets left behind.

Blowing into a respiratory monitor the hardest (see your G.P. if you do not know what this is).
Naked female Greco-Roman Wrestling isn't on the list, which is a damn shame.....

(that was me, trying to blow into an RM!)
All team games are debatable as Olympic events in my opinion.
Anything that relies on subjective opinion should be out without question.
All the rest probably have a reasonable claim to get in, if popular enough to make a decent competition.
A sport that we should be guaranteed a medal, possibly a gold, competing against the Greeks and the Egyptians.....brick throwing. (distance, glass smashing and 'machine gun' effect - reflecting, of course, shades of our longbow archers who could launch some 6 to 8 arrows a minute at the hapless French.

Come to think of it, having the French as the targets could make the "sport" that more interesting and many a nation (25 minimum to become Olympic recognised if I remember right) would join in.
Olympics is supposed to be for amateurs. Can't really compare with a Grand Slam tennis event.
Wellie boot and Dwarf throwing would be good.
A shame for the Ladies that do play and like netball... I agree JJ.

Out... that Bike thing, they go around ...around and around.
In... should be the person that organised the ticket situation, tracking him/her down with a bow and arrow would be fun to see. (I am only joking of course;-)
One for the winter olympics here.
