During our paella last night I had a call from mum to say that my sister was rushed into theatre and the tram there safely delivered her baby boy. She has been in hospital for a couple of months with placenta praevia and it has been touch and go at times.

The news was especially well received by our elder siblings after having recently been reunited with them following a 31 year estrangement.

Needles to say, am sat here grinning broadly.

Thank you Alba. Hopefully the new baby will be able to come along to the big reunion. X
If the babby does make it to the big party, it will be well and truly gurgled over. I bet your sis will now be chomping at the bit to get fit enough to go home with the little chap.

She's occupied the hospital bed for some time so I imagine she'll be anxious to get going soon.

Bobjugs' ex wife has elective C-section last week and was out the next day.
My!!! How times have changed, I'm sure they used to keep you in for 10 days after a c-section. At the same time, if it was a 'normal' birth and the first it was 5 days, 3 for the second baby.
Now it's in and out.

I can imagine the look on your sister's face when she gets into her own bed tho. :)
Question Author
Yes... Hospital beds are too scarce these days.
Not to mention the nursing staff :)
Congrats NoM, so exciting. My neighbour's daughter delivered earlier this week - not a relative but still new life, the next generation!

It's very exciting, Boxy. The baby's actual due date was 05 November but c section was booked for 26 October which will be my sister's ninth wedding anniversary.

However, he decided to expedite his own arrival into the world.
They do, you know, they do - this baby here hung on for nearly three weeks past due date!
He's going to be a good son to him mum. She can have a glass of wine on her wedding anniversary (unless she's breast-feeding)

Both my sons were 10 days late. (They are good to their mum btw!)
jeepers boxy!! That IS late. Poor mum.
Weight, NoM? name? hair?
Question Author
Lol. I was aparently born the very day I was due.

My cousin's baby was born at 26 weeks but she is now a fiesty five year old.
Question Author
Baby was 6lb something or other. She knew she was having another boy so she's been calling him Keiran throughout the pregnancy but she has apparently chosen another name now. Not sure about hair.
Agree with Boxy, C'mon Nom, spill the details...
Congrats, HB ...

=0)
congratulations to all NoM - what a lovely story to begin the day with - best wishes to all
