Go on untitled, I dare you, even though it may make you swallow some vomit, can you hand on heart say MT caused more more harm than good? Ignoring the cost of living crisis, which to a large degree was brought about by the wrong decision by the Tories to lockdown and pay people to sit on their backsides (plus latterly Ukraine), we mostly have a good standard of...

You are like a dog with a bone......

This question is just an excuse for you to have another punch-up based on 10cs post.
And you complain about another poster banging the same tune on his drum day in day out.

It's a valid question, I'm looking for ideas.
Behave.......
It's 2023 and the UK Is still the sick man of Europe. How do you fix it .......Easy Don't vote Tory at the next General Election, like you didn't at the Local elections.
Germany is the sick man of Europe at the mo.
It’s a fair topic as a discussion point. In the late 70s the UK was a basket case, and it’s an historical undeniable fact the MT brought prosperity.

The MT haters won’t agree, but it doesn’t make it untrue.

Forgive them DD for they know not what they do.

This is a hypothetical question, surprised that there are not more ideas from our left wing friends.
^^^because it’s anathema to them to even slightly concede that she was successful in her vision.
It isn't a hypothetical question, but rather a pointless one, given 1979 was 44 years ago and all done and dusted.

DD: I think I get it now, the nasty left wanted us to descend into another state of the Soviet Union. TGL stopped that, they were gutted.
Question Author
but ich, the lefties deserve a chance to tell us how they would have fixed it.
It's a lovely sunny day TTT, could you not just go into the garden for a few hours?

already have maggie, been to lunch had a couple of pints, nice!
wait until the north sea oil starts flowing. should be in a few months if it hasn't started already.

allow only 50% maximum private stake in any given oil extraction operation, with the rest going to a state owned enterprise. tax the revenue of those companies which take the 50% stake to the hilt.

use the money to establish a sovereign wealth fund.

pass the 1982 Employment Act pretty much as was.

defend the falklands, that'll get me re-elected no matter what really.
Question Author
well untitled, I'm impressed, you actually had a go at the question. What would you do about the union problem?
pass the employment act of 1982 pretty much as was. i do not disagree with that part of thatcher's legacy.
Go on untitled, I dare you, even though it
may make you swallow some vomit, can you hand on heart say MT caused more more harm than good?

Ignoring the cost of living crisis, which to a large degree was brought about by the wrong decision by the Tories to lockdown and pay people
to sit on their backsides (plus latterly Ukraine), we mostly have a good standard of living.

This was is down to MT and, credit where it’s due, Blair (who was a Thatcherite and more right wing than the current Govt), but MT laid the foundations.

To deny this is entirely churlish.
Hire Gully and watch the Pound crash to the point that we are forced into Europe.

DD better BA than your other one!
